Hepa-Gel 60,000 I.U. Lichtenstein - To reduce swelling

Hepa-Gel 60,000 I.U. Lichtenstein is used as a supportive treatment for acute swelling following blunt injuries such as bruises and bruises.It can also be used for superficial phlebitis if it cannot be treated with compression.However, the primary treatment for superficial phlebitis of the lower extremities is compression treatment.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The active ingredient in this gel is heparin sodium, obtained from pig mucosa.The other ingredients include sodium edetate, isopropyl alcohol, carbomer 980, poly(oxyethylene)-7-glycerol (mono,di)alkanoate (C8-C18), polysorbate 80, glycerol 85%, sodium hydroxide, rosemary oil, citronella oil, pine needle oil, purified water and disodium edetate 2-water.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be used if you are hypersensitive or allergic to heparin or any of the other ingredients.Its use is also contraindicated if you have an acute or known allergic drop in the number of blood platelets (thrombocytopenia type II) caused by heparin.

Dosage

Always use this medicine exactly as described or after consulting your doctor or pharmacist.The recommended dose is 2-3 times daily, applied thinly and evenly to the affected area.The application should not last longer than 10 days.If you overdose or forget to use it, please contact your doctor or pharmacist.Stopping or interrupting treatment should also be discussed with your doctor or pharmacist.

Patient information

Particular caution is required when using it.If symptoms occur that could indicate thrombosis or pulmonary embolism, such as swelling, feeling of warmth, red and tense skin, feeling of tension and pain in the foot, calf and back of the knee or sudden shortness of breath and chest pain, the presence of heparin-induced thrombocytopenia type II should be ruled out and the blood platelet count should be checked.Regular checks of platelet levels are necessary every time heparin is used.If drugs that interfere with blood clotting are used at the same time, an increased risk of bleeding cannot be ruled out.Injections into the muscle should be avoided during treatment to avoid bruising.The gel should not be applied to open wounds or weeping eczema.Due to the alcohol content, it should not come into contact with the eyes or mucous membranes.The preparation is not recommended for use in children and adolescents under the age of 18 as there is insufficient data on its safety and effectiveness.The ability to drive and use machines is not affected by the application.

Pregnancy

Previous experience with use in pregnant and breastfeeding women has shown no evidence of harmful effects.Heparin does not cross the placenta and does not pass into breast milk.If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.

Notes

No prescription is required for this product.The gel should not be applied to mucous membranes, open or inflamed areas of skin or come into contact with the eyes as a burning sensation may occur.Please do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the pack.
