Description

Venous diseases are among the most common diseases of civilization.Typical symptoms are heavy, swollen and painful legs, which indicate congestion in the superficial leg veins.Often there is already inflammation of the leg veins.Hepathromb 60,000 cream contains heparin, which prevents the formation of superficial thrombi and promotes their regression.When applied locally, the cream has an anti-inflammatory effect, promotes the healing of superficial phlebitis and relieves swelling and symptoms such as a feeling of heaviness, tissue tension and pain in the legs.

Areas of application

Hepathromb 60,000 cream is used externally to reduce swelling.It supports the treatment of acute swelling following blunt injuries such as bruises, strains or bruises as well as superficial phlebitis.However, the application does not replace compression treatment by a doctor for superficial phlebitis.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The cream contains 60,000 IE heparin sodium (from pig intestinal mucosa) per 100 grams. Other ingredients include cetostearyl alcohol (emulsifying, type A), dexpanthenol, glycerol, glycerol monostearate 40-55, white petrolatum, purified water, methyl 4-hydroxybenzoate and propyl 4-hydroxybenzoate.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be used if you are allergic to heparin sodium, methyl or propyl 4-hydroxybenzoate or any of the other ingredients.The cream must also not be used if there is an acute or a history of allergic fall in the blood platelet count (thrombocytopenia type II) caused by heparin.

Dosage and application

Apply the cream thinly and evenly to the affected skin area 2 to 3 times a day.The duration of application is usually 10 days, unless otherwise prescribed.The cream should not be applied to open wounds or weeping eczema.After use, wash your hands thoroughly with soap.

Patient information

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using the product.If you experience symptoms that could indicate a thrombosis or pulmonary embolism, such as swelling, warmth, red and tight skin, tightness and pain in the foot, calf and back of the knee, or sudden shortness of breath and chest pain, you should consult a doctor immediately.Regular checks of platelet levels are required every time heparin is used.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.Experience to date has shown no evidence of harmful effects.Heparin does not cross the placenta and does not pass into breast milk.The cream must not be used on the breast area while breastfeeding.

Ability to drive and use machines

There are no known effects on the ability to drive or use machines.

No prescription is required for this product.The use of this product for superficial phlebitis does not replace compression treatment by a doctor.

Other

The primary treatment for superficial phlebitis of the legs is treatment using pressure bandages.If applied to very large areas and simultaneous treatment with anticoagulants, the tendency to bleeding can be increased.
