Area of application

Hepathromb 60000 is used externally to reduce swelling.It supports the treatment of acute swelling following blunt injuries such as bruises, strains or bruises as well as superficial phlebitis.The cream has a local anti-inflammatory effect, promotes the healing of superficial phlebitis and relieves symptoms such as heaviness in the legs, tissue tension and pain.

Active ingredients and ingredients

Hepathromb 60000 contains 60000 IE heparin, sodium salt (from pig) as the active ingredient.The other ingredients are cetostearyl alcohol (emulsifying, type A), dexpanthenol, glycerol, glycerol monostearate 40-55, white petrolatum, purified water, methyl 4-hydroxybenzoate and propyl 4-hydroxybenzoate.

Contraindications

This medicine must not be used if you are allergic to heparin or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.It must also not be used if there is an acute or a history of allergic fall in the number of blood platelets (thrombocytopenia type II) caused by heparin.

Dosage and application

Apply Hepathromb 60000 thinly and evenly to the affected skin region 2 to 3 times a day.The duration of application is usually 10 days.No prescription is required for this product.

Patient information

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using the product.The cream should not be applied to open wounds and/or weeping eczema.If drugs that interfere with blood clotting are used at the same time, an increased risk of bleeding cannot be ruled out.During treatment with the medicine, injections into the muscle should be avoided due to the risk of bruising (hematomas).

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.Previous experience with use in pregnant and breastfeeding women has shown no evidence of harmful effects.Heparin does not cross the placenta and does not pass into breast milk.The cream must not be used on the breast area while breastfeeding.

Notes

The use of this product for superficial phlebitis does not replace compression treatment by a doctor.If applied to very large areas and simultaneous treatment with anticoagulants (anticoagulants, acetylsalicylic acid), the tendency to bleeding can be increased.After use, wash your hands thoroughly with soap.
