Directions for use of Cetixin 10mg: Cetixin 10 mg film-coated tablets contain the active substance cetirizine dihydrochloride and are used to relieve nasal and ocular symptoms of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis and to relieve symptoms of chronic idiopathic urticaria. The medicine belongs to a group of antihistamines taken for allergies. The tablets should be taken unchewed with liquid and can be divided into equal doses if necessary. The recommended dose for adults and adolescents 12 years and older is 10 mg once daily. For children between 6 and 12 years of age, the recommended dose is 5 mg twice daily. In patients with moderate to severe renal impairment, the recommended dose is 5 mg once daily. The duration of use depends on the type, duration and course of the symptoms and is determined by the doctor. The medicinal product should be kept out of the reach of children and should not be stored above 25 °C. Damaged tablets should not be used. There are some contraindications to the use of the medicinal product, such as hypersensitivity to the ingredients and impaired kidney function. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before use. Possible side effects may include gastrointestinal discomfort, headache, dizziness, fatigue and dry mouth. In case of overdose, diarrhoea, drowsiness and increased heart rate may occur.
