Cetixin 10 mg film-coated tablets - help with allergies
Cetirizine dihydrochloride is an active ingredient that inhibits the effects of histamine.Medicines with this active ingredient are called antiallergics.Cetixin 10 mg film-coated tablets can be used to relieve nasal and ocular symptoms of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis, as well as to relieve symptoms of chronic idiopathic urticaria.No prescription is required for this product.
Area of application
Cetixin 10 mg film-coated tablets are indicated for the relief of nasal and ocular symptoms in seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis and for the relief of hives (chronic idiopathic urticaria).This applies to adults and children aged 6 and over.
Active ingredients / ingredients / ingredients
The active ingredient is cetirizine dihydrochloride.One film-coated tablet contains 10 mg cetirizine dihydrochloride, which corresponds to 8.42 mg cetirizine.The other ingredients are microcrystalline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium, hypromellose, macrogol 4000, vegetable magnesium stearate, pre-gelatinized corn starch, polydextrose, colloidal silicon dioxide and titanium dioxide.
Contraindications
Cetixin 10 mg film-coated tablets must not be taken if you are allergic to cetirizine, any of the other ingredients of the drug, hydroxyzine or other piperazine derivatives.It is also not permitted to be taken if you have severe kidney disease that requires dialysis.
Dosage
Cetixin 10 mg film-coated tablets should always be taken exactly as described or after consultation with your doctor or pharmacist.If you are unsure, please ask.
Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age should take one tablet (10 mg) once daily.Children between 6 and 12 years of age should take half a tablet (5 mg) twice daily.Patients with moderate kidney failure are recommended to take 5 mg once daily.If you have severe kidney disease, the dose should be adjusted accordingly by your doctor or pharmacist.
The length of time you take it depends on the type, duration and course of your symptoms.Please ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice.If you feel that the effect is too weak or too strong, please contact your doctor.
In the event of an overdose, you should inform your doctor, who will then decide what action to take.Possible symptoms of overdose include confusion, diarrhea, dizziness, tiredness, headache, general malaise, dilated pupils, itching, restlessness, sedation, sleepiness, lightheadedness, rapid heartbeat, tremor and urinary retention.
If you forget to take a dose, do not take a double dose.In rare cases, when the medication is discontinued, intense itching and/or hives may reoccur.
Intake
The tablets should be swallowed whole with a glass of liquid.The tablet can be divided into equal doses.
Patient information
Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking the medicine.If you have impaired kidney function, difficulty urinating, epilepsy or risk of seizures, you should consult your doctor.It is recommended to avoid taking Cetixin 10 mg film-coated tablets and alcohol at the same time.If you have a scheduled allergy test, you should stop taking it a few days beforehand.
Children under 6 years of age should not receive the medicine as the required dose cannot be adjusted.
In clinical studies, the drug at the recommended dose did not cause any signs of impairment of attention, alertness or ability to drive.However, after taking it, you should carefully monitor your reaction to the medicine if you drive, carry out work without secure support or operate machines.
Pregnancy
If you are pregnant, breast-feeding, or planning to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.The preparation should be avoided in pregnant women.Cetirizine dihydrochloride passes into breast milk, so you should not take the medicine if you are breast-feeding until you consult your doctor.
