NasalDuo® nasal spray has a dual effect.The active ingredient xylometazoline ensures rapid swelling of the nasal mucosa, while dexpanthenol promotes wound healing and protects the irritated nasal mucosa.The spray is preservative-free and therefore particularly gentle on the nasal mucosa.It is suitable for adults, teenagers and children aged 6 and over.There is a special dosage for children between 2 and 6 years old.

Area of application

NasalDuo® nasal spray is used to reduce the swelling of the nasal mucosa when you have a cold.It supports the healing of skin and mucous membrane damage, helps with episodic runny nose and in the treatment of nasal breathing obstructions after surgical procedures on the nose.

Mode of action

The nasal spray contains the active ingredients xylometazoline and dexpanthenol.Xylometazoline has a vasoconstrictor and anti-swelling effect, which reduces the swelling of the nasal mucosa and makes it easier to breathe through.Dexpanthenol, a derivative of the vitamin pantothenic acid, promotes wound healing and protects the sensitive nasal mucosa.This combination not only clears the nose, but also cares for it.

NasalDuo® nasal spray contains the active ingredients xylometazoline hydrochloride and dexpanthenol.One spray (equivalent to 0.1 ml solution) contains 0.1 mg xylometazoline hydrochloride and 5.0 mg dexpanthenol.1 ml solution contains 1 mg xylometazoline hydrochloride and 50 mg dexpanthenol.

Other ingredients include potassium dihydrogen phosphate, disodium hydrogen phosphate and water for injections.

Contraindications

NasalDuo® Nasal Spray must not be used if you are allergic to xylometazoline hydrochloride, dexpanthenol, potassium dihydrogen phosphate or disodium hydrogen phosphate.The spray should also not be used if you have a dry cold or after neurosurgical procedures that expose the meninges.It is not suitable for children under 6 years.

Dosage

The medicine is intended for use in the nose.After removing the protective cap, insert the spray opening into the nostril and activate the pump once.Breathe calmly through your nose while spraying.After use, wipe the spray head with a clean paper towel and replace the protective cap.

Intake

Before the first application and after a treatment break of more than 7 days, activate the pump several times until an even spray mist is released.Blow your nose carefully before using the nasal spray.It is recommended to use the last dose of the day before going to bed.For hygiene reasons, a spray bottle should only be used by one person.

Patient information

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using the nasal spray if you are being treated with certain medicines for depression or other medicines that increase blood pressure.Caution should also be exercised when taking antihypertensive drugs, increased intraocular pressure, coronary heart disease, high blood pressure, adrenal tumors, metabolic disorders or an enlarged prostate.

It may only be used for chronic colds under medical supervision.The nasal spray must not be used in children under 6 years of age.Long-term use and overdose, especially in children, should be avoided.

If used as intended, no side effects are to be expected.

Pregnancy

Before using any medicines, ask your doctor or pharmacy for advice.The nasal spray can be used during pregnancy for no more than a week when used as directed.It is not known whether the active ingredients pass into breast milk.A risk to the infant cannot be ruled out.
