The Nasic nasal spray is used to reduce the swelling of the nasal mucosa when you have a cold.It also helps with inflammation of the sinuses and supports the healing of skin and mucous membrane damage.It can also be used after surgical procedures on the nose to treat nasal breathing obstructions.The product is suitable for adults and school children.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The Nasic nasal spray contains the active ingredients xylometazoline hydrochloride and dexpanthenol.Xylometazoline has a decongestant effect on the mucous membrane, while dexpanthenol, a vitamin derivative, supports the healing of the damaged mucous membrane.The other ingredients include benzalkonium chloride, potassium hydrogen phosphate, sodium monohydrogen phosphate dodecahydrate and purified water.

Mode of action

Xylometazoline constricts the vessels in the nasal mucosa, causing the mucous membrane to swell and making breathing easier.Dexpanthenol supports the regeneration of the nasal mucosa damaged by blowing the nose and dehydration.The combination of these active ingredients provides rapid relief of symptoms and promotes healing.

Dosage and application

Before the first use, you should pump the spray bottle vigorously several times until a fine spray mist is created.Before use, clean your nose by blowing your nose vigorously.Adults and school children can use the nasal spray up to three times a day by giving one spray into each nostril.Breathe in gently through your nose while spraying.Wipe the nasal tube carefully after use to avoid virus accumulation.

Contraindications

The Nasic nasal spray should not be used if you are hypersensitive to the ingredients, dry inflammation of the nasal mucosa with crust formation or in children under 6 years of age.If you are taking mood-enhancing drugs or other drugs that increase blood pressure, have increased intraocular pressure, severe cardiovascular diseases, a hormone-producing tumor of the adrenal medulla or metabolic disorders, you should consult a doctor before use.

Side effects

Possible side effects include irritation in the nose, such as a temporary, mild burning sensation, a feeling of stuffy nose, high blood pressure, increased pulse rate and heart palpitations.If you feel unwell or change during treatment, you should contact your doctor or pharmacist.

No prescription is required for this product.The Nasic nasal spray should be used for a maximum of 7 days.For hygiene reasons, a dropper bottle should only be used by one person.With prolonged use or higher doses, effects on cardiac and circulatory functions or the nervous system cannot be ruled out, which may impair the ability to drive a motor vehicle or operate machines.

Pregnancy

The medicine should not be used during pregnancy as there are no sufficient data on the use of xylometazoline hydrochloride in pregnant women.It should not be used during breastfeeding as it is not known whether the active ingredient xylometazoline hydrochloride passes into breast milk.

Patient information

Particular caution is required when using monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) and other potentially blood pressure-increasing drugs, increased intraocular pressure, severe heart and circulatory diseases, a hormone-producing tumor of the adrenal medulla and metabolic disorders.Due to the risk of the nasal mucosa shrinking, it may only be used under medical supervision if you have a chronic cold.Long-term use and overdose, especially in children, should be avoided.

Storage

The medicine may be used for a maximum of 6 months after opening and must be stored at room temperature.
