Mode of action

The Emser® nasal douche with 4 bags of Emser® nasal rinse salt contains natural Emser salt, which is based on a salt mixture of various mineral salts.The main components are sodium, bicarbonate, potassium, sulfate and chloride ions.These minerals mimic the mineral composition of nasal secretions, making the solution isotonic and non-irritating to the nose.The nasal douche loosens solid nasal mucus, activates the cilia and improves the cleaning function of the nose.The hydrogen carbonate ions neutralize acidic metabolic products, which reduces inflammatory reactions and accelerates healing.

Contraindications

Dosage

The Emser® nasal douche with 4 bags of Emser® nasal rinse salt can be used depending on your needs and individual tolerance.It is dissolved in water and suitable as a rinsing solution and for inhalation.

Application

1. Fill the nasal douche with water: Fold out the nasal attachment horizontally and fill the nasal douche with lukewarm fresh water up to the mark (250 ml).The water should be at least drinking water quality and not warmer than 50 °C.

2. Fill the salt bag: Fill in Emser® nasal rinse salt (2.5 g) or Emser® salt (2.95 g), close the lid and dissolve the salt by swirling.Then fold up the nose piece as far as it will go.

3. Rinse your nose: Place the nose piece on one nostril and lift your index finger.The liquid flows into one nostril, rinses the nose and runs out the other nostril.Open your mouth wide so that the liquid cannot get into your throat.

Application recommendation

Nasal rinsing is most pleasant with a lukewarm rinsing solution.The salt must first be completely dissolved by shaking.When rinsing, lean your head slightly over a sink, open your mouth wide and, if necessary, use the adjustable rinsing pressure through the lid valve.The correct dosage is achieved using the appropriate sachets.

Always use Emser® nasal rinse salt or Emser Salz® for nasal rinses.Rinsing with pure water or table salt is not advisable due to poor dosage, as these can irritate the nasal mucosa and cause it to swell painfully.

If some residual solution accumulates in the nasal recesses after rinsing, this can be easily removed by turning your head to the left and right a few times while bending over the sink.

For prevention

Regular nasal rinses with Emser® nasal rinse salt can prevent colds.Secretions, dirt particles and germs are flushed out of the nose and the nasal mucosa is kept moist and healthy.

For hay fever

Nasal rinses with Emser® nasal rinse salt have proven effective for hay fever.The symptoms of an acute pollen allergy can be noticeably reduced.Rinsing in the evening is recommended to clean the nose of pollen.

When exposed to dust

If there is a lot of dust, rinsing your nose with Emser® nasal rinsing salt quickly and easily clears your nose of impurities.Regular daily rinsing in the morning is also an effective remedy for house dust allergies.

During pregnancy

Nasal rinsing with the Emser® nasal douche and isotonic saline solutions can also be carried out safely by pregnant women and women who are breastfeeding.It is designed so that it can be used without any problems.
