What is valerian tincture and what is it used for?

Valerian tincture is a herbal medicine that is used to calm you down.It is used for restlessness and nervous-related problems falling asleep.The active ingredients of valerian root have an anti-anxiety, calming and sleep-inducing effect.In addition, the muscles are relaxed.

Composition

100 Grams of valerian tincture contains 100 grams of valerian root tincture in a ratio of 1:5.Ethanol 70% (V/V) is used as an extractant.The main ingredients of valerian are iridoids (valepotriate) and essential oil (bornyl acetate).

Areas of application

Valerian tincture is used for nervous restlessness and difficulty falling asleep, which are primarily caused by nervousness.If the symptoms persist for a long time, a doctor should be consulted.

Dosage and instructions for use

To calm down, young people aged 12 and over and adults can take half a teaspoon (approx. 2.5 ml) 2-3 times a day.If you have trouble sleeping, a teaspoon (approx. 5 ml) is recommended half an hour before bedtime.If necessary, an additional teaspoon can be taken before dinner.The tincture should be diluted in water.The total dose should not be exceeded without consulting a doctor or pharmacist.

Contraindications

Valerian tincture should not be used if you are hypersensitive to the ingredients, in children under 12 years of age, or during pregnancy and breastfeeding.If used despite contraindications, you should speak to your doctor or pharmacist.

Important notes

No prescription is required for this product.Reactivity may be impaired, especially in higher doses or in combination with alcohol.The medicine contains alcohol and poses a risk for people with liver disease, alcoholics, epileptics, brain damage, pregnant women, breastfeeding women and children.

Storage

Valerian tincture should be kept tightly closed, protected from light and out of the reach of children.After the expiry date, the medicine should no longer be used.
