POSTERISAN® acute relieves painful and itchy symptoms in the anal area.The rectal ointment contains the active ingredient lidocaine, a locally effective anesthetic that works quickly and reliably.It is suitable for treating itchy and painful symptoms associated with anal fissures or hemorrhoidal problems.

The ointment is applied thinly to the anal region in the morning and evening, if possible before and after defecation, and spread carefully with your finger.For the treatment of symptoms in the anus, the POSTERISAN® acute ointment comes with an applicator with side openings.By inserting it into the anal canal, the hemorrhoid ointment works locally at the site of the problem, resulting in a noticeable improvement in the unpleasant symptoms.

How does lidocaine ointment help against hemorrhoids and anal fissures?

The active ingredient lidocaine is a local anesthetic that prevents nerves from transmitting stimuli.This alleviates unpleasant symptoms such as itching in hemorrhoidal problems or the intense sensation of pain in an acute anal fissure.To treat hemorrhoids or anal fissures, lidocaine ointment is applied to the anus and anal canal.

The consistency of the rectal ointment also plays a role

Another criterion for good applicability and treatment is the consistency of the rectal ointment.The cream must last long enough to release its active ingredient.At the same time, it must not be too tight, otherwise it cannot be distributed in the anal canal.Hemorrhoid ointments from Posterisan are specially made for treatment in the sensitive anal region and have the right consistency for successful therapy.

If the anus itches

Hemorrhoidal disease is not uncommon

Approximately two out of three people over 30 suffer from hemorrhoidal problems at least once in their lives.Hemorrhoids are important for the fine closure of the anus and are present in every person from birth.However, if their size increases over time, they can cause unpleasant symptoms, which is why they should be treated as early as possible.New cases most often occur between the ages of 45 and 65.The first typical signs of hemorrhoids are bright red blood on the toilet paper or in your underwear.

Medical science only speaks of hemorrhoidal disease when the vascular cushions pathologically enlarge and the nodular protrusions lead to typical symptoms such as itching, burning, pain or even oozing.

POSTERISAN® acute for hemorrhoids 50mg/g rectal ointment contains: The active ingredient is lidocaine.1 gram of rectal ointment contains 50mg lidocaine.Other ingredients include: cetyl alcohol, macrogols, purified water.

Contraindications

The product should not be used if you are known to be hypersensitive to lidocaine or any of the other ingredients mentioned above.

Dosage

POSTERISAN® acute for hemorrhoids 50mg/g rectal ointment is suitable for the acute treatment of severe itching and pain on the bottom and should not be used for longer than 3 days without consulting a doctor.The ointment is applied thinly to the anal region in the morning and evening, if possible before and after defecation, and spread carefully with your finger.

Intake

The ointment is applied thinly to the areas of skin and mucous membranes to be treated in the morning and evening and, if possible, before (approx. 30 minutes) and after defecation and rubbed in carefully with your finger.For easier handling, it is recommended to store the ointment at room temperature (18°C to 25°C).The 25 g tube and the 50 g tube contain a cover in the opening that must be pierced before first use.In order to completely open the tube opening, the tube cap is turned over, the mandrel is pushed completely into the opening and turned slightly.To avoid sharp kinks, we recommend rolling up the tube from the end after each use so that the front part is always full.

To introduce the rectal ointment into the anal canal, please note the following instructions for use: The package includes an applicator with side outlet openings, which can be used to distribute the ointment evenly and in sufficient quantities in the anal canal and adjacent rectal area.To use, the applicator is screwed onto the tube and the cap is removed.By pressing on the tube, the ointment is pressed into the applicator until it emerges from the side openings.The applicator is then carefully inserted into the anus until it stops clearly.The lubricity can be increased by coating the applicator with a little ointment.By pressing the tube again, the ointment is then released into the anal canal.Adequate distribution of the ointment is achieved by carefully turning the tube.Cleaning the applicator after use is best done by squeezing out some ointment from the side openings, wiping the surface with absorbent paper and replacing the cap to prevent the ointment from drying out in the applicator.

If the ointment is not used for a long period of time, the applicator should be unscrewed and cleaned with warm water.The pack of rectal ointment with anal dilator also includes a so-called anal dilator to gradually stretch the cramped sphincter or to prevent sphincter cramps, which can be used in addition to treatment with the medication.

To improve lubrication, the anal dilator is thinly coated with ointment before it is inserted into the anal canal and an approximately 1 cm long strand of ointment is also placed on the tip of the anal dilator.This makes insertion much easier and avoids additional pain.When using it, we recommend a relaxed posture, either in a squatting position or lying on your side.The anal dilator is carefully inserted with a twisting motion as far as is possible without pain.The cramping is relaxed and at the same time the ointment is massaged into the finest cracks and folds of the anal canal.After use, please clean the anal dilator with toilet paper and warm water.Normally the anal dilator should be used about twice a day for 2 minutes each time.During the course of the treatment, you should try to gradually insert the anal dilator further into the anal canal.Please discuss the use of the anal dilator with your doctor.

To use it, the cap is removed and the tip of the tube is carefully inserted all the way into the anus.The lubricity can be increased by applying a little squeezed-out ointment to the opening area.The contents of the tube are then emptied by pressing firmly with the thumb and forefinger. When pulling it out, the pressure on the tube should be increased so that the remaining contents reach the anal canal and prevent the ointment from being sucked back in.After use, the cap should be replaced and the tube thrown into the trash can.

Since the use of creams, ointments and suppositories in the anal area can cause laundry to become dirty, we recommend an anal pad to protect your laundry.

Patient information

Particular caution is required when using it: The use of the drug is intended to relieve pain before a medical examination and cannot replace it.Please see your family doctor, a dermatologist with experience in proctology or a proctologist (reclinologist) as soon as possible.Under no circumstances should the medicine be used long-term.In the case of fungal infestation, the additional use of a locally effective agent against fungal infections is necessary.Ability to drive and use machines: The medicine has no effects on the ability to drive and use machines.

Pregnancy

Lidocaine, the active ingredient in this medicine, should only be used during pregnancy if strictly indicated.It appears unlikely that there will be any risk to the infant if the drug is used while breastfeeding.
