Area of application

Movicol Chocolate is a laxative used to treat acute and chronic constipation in adults, adolescents and elderly patients.It is not suitable for children under 12 years.Movicol Chocolate promotes pleasant intestinal activity, even in the case of long-term constipation.

Each sachet of Movicol Chocolate contains 13.9 g of powder to make a solution.The main active ingredients are macrogol 3350 (13.125 g), sodium chloride (0.3507 g), sodium hydrogen carbonate (0.1785 g) and potassium chloride (0.0317 g).After dissolving in 125 ml of water, the following values result: sodium 65 mmol/l, chloride 51 mmol/l, potassium 5.4 mmol/l and hydrogen carbonate 17 mmol/l.

Additional ingredients include chocolate flavor and acesulfame potassium (E950) as a sweetener.The chocolate flavor contains maltodextrin (potato), arabic gum E414, medium chain triglycerides (coconut), propylene glycol E1520 and benzyl alcohol E1519.

Dosage

One dose of Movicol Chocolate corresponds to one sachet.The recommended dosage is 1 to 3 sachets daily depending on the severity of constipation.The treatment usually lasts about two weeks.For long-term use or specific illnesses such as Parkinson's disease or multiple sclerosis, the dosage should be discussed with a doctor.

Overdose may cause diarrhea.In this case, you should stop taking it and drink enough fluids.If you miss a dose, you should take it as soon as possible.

Intake

Movicol Chocolate can be taken at any time of the day, regardless of meals.The contents of one sachet are dissolved in approximately 125 ml of water and stirred until the powder is completely dissolved.The solution should be clear or slightly cloudy.If the packaging is damaged, the product should not be used.

No prescription is required for this product.

Storage

Movicol Chocolate should be kept out of the reach of children.The product should not be used after the expiry date stated on the sachet.Dissolved solution that is not drunk immediately should be kept sealed in the refrigerator (2°C - 8°C) and used within 24 hours.Unused solution should be discarded after 6 hours.

The product should not be disposed of via wastewater.Ask your pharmacy about proper disposal to protect the environment.
