Area of application

The drug Loperamid akut - 1 A Pharma is used for the symptomatic treatment of acute diarrhea in adults and adolescents aged 12 and over, provided no causal therapy is available.The active ingredient loperamide hydrochloride helps to normalize intestinal activity and reduce stool frequency.Treatment beyond 2 days should only be carried out under medical supervision.

Each hard capsule contains 2 mg of loperamide hydrochloride as the active ingredient.In addition, the preparation contains the following excipients: gelatin, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, corn starch, talc, iron (III) hydroxide oxide x H2O, iron(II,III) oxide, patent blue V and titanium dioxide.No prescription is required for this product.

Contraindications

Loperamide acute - 1 A Pharma must not be taken if you are allergic to loperamide hydrochloride or any of the other ingredients.Children under 12 years of age should also not use the medicine.It is also not suitable for conditions that require slowing of intestinal activity, such as constipation or intestinal obstruction.The product should not be used in cases of diarrhea with fever or bloody stools, during or after taking antibiotics, as well as in cases of chronic diarrhea or an acute attack of ulcerative colitis.

Dosage

The recommended dose for adolescents aged 12 years and over is 1 hard capsule initially, followed by 1 capsule after each unformed stool, but not more than 4 capsules per day.Adults take 2 capsules initially, followed by 1 capsule after each unformed stool, but not more than 6 capsules per day.Treatment should not last longer than 2 days without medical advice.If diarrhea persists after 2 days, a doctor should be consulted.

Intake

The hard capsules should be swallowed whole with sufficient liquid, such as a glass of water.
