Instructions for use for FAKTU Lind hemorrhoid ointment with witch hazel, 25 g
FAKTU® lind hemorrhoid ointment with Hamamelis virginiana
The herbal hemorrhoid ointment from FAKTU® lind is available without a prescription in pharmacies and helps to relieve the symptoms of hemorrhoids in the early stages. The herbal active ingredient from witch hazel (witch hazel) has a broad spectrum of action and combats several hemorrhoid symptoms at the same time.It inhibits inflammation, relieves itching and burning, promotes the healing of irritated skin and stops minor bleeding. Thanks to the astringent effect of witch hazel, light bleeding that can occur with hemorrhoids in the early stages is stopped and oozing is reduced.
What helps against hemorrhoids?
FAKTU® lind hemorrhoid ointment is suitable for long-term treatment of mild hemorrhoid problems due to its good tolerability. However, self-treatment should not last longer than 4 weeks.
How does witch hazel ointment work?
Witch hazel (Hamamelis virginiana) has a high proportion of tannic acid, which has an astringent effect and thus reduces oozing and bleeding. At the same time, a protective film forms over the sore and irritated hemorrhoids, which also reduces inflammation and accelerates the healing process. The witch hazel extract has a hemostatic, locally drying, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antiviral, antioxidant and cell-protecting effect and can therefore optimally support the relief of the symptoms of enlarged hemorrhoids.
Easy to use with applicator
For the treatment of symptoms in the anus, the FAKTU® lind ointment comes with an applicator with side openings.By applying it to the anal canal, the hemorrhoid ointment works locally at the site of the problem, resulting in a noticeable improvement in the unpleasant symptoms.
If the anus itches
Approximately 2 out of 3 adults are affected by hemorrhoidal problems. They occur when the hemorrhoids enlarge. The symptoms of enlarged hemorrhoids usually develop slowly.Occasionally you may feel itching and a slight burning sensation in the anal area or there may be bright red blood on the toilet paper.
How do hemorrhoids occur?
Everyone has hemorrhoids. They are ring-shaped blood vessel pads that are located behind the sphincter in the anal canal. They seal the rectum from the outside and prevent stool residue, secretions and intestinal wind from escaping. If pressure is applied to the blood vessel pads for a long time, the blood cannot drain and the bulging hemorrhoids are pushed outwards, especially in the case of constipation and forced bowel movements. As a result, the connective tissue loses its elasticity and becomes increasingly irritated, and fecal and wound secretions escape into the buttock fold. The skin on the anus begins to itch and burn.
What are the causes of hemorrhoid problems?
The causes of hemorrhoidal problems are varied and often have to do with our modern lifestyle. These include an unbalanced, low-fiber diet, too little fluid intake, sitting for hours, too little exercise and straining during bowel movements.Lack of exercise itself does not cause hemorrhoid problems. But sitting too much makes the intestines sluggish. Those who are sensitive are prone to constipation under these conditions. This, in turn, leads to straining when going to the toilet, which irritates the hemorrhoidal pads, which can lead to hemorrhoidal problems.
Who is particularly at risk
People who suffer from chronic constipation are prone to hemorrhoid problems.Since connective tissue loses its elasticity as we age, seniors are increasingly suffering from hemorrhoid problems, especially when mobility decreases. But even younger people are not immune to itching of the anus and burning of the bottom. The modern, hectic lifestyle is not good for your health and affects your stomach and intestines. The result is constipation or diarrhea, which irritates the hemorrhoidal pads and causes discomfort.
Hemorrhoid problems cannot be ignored
Hemorrhoids are a taboo topic for many: but especially in the early stages, they can be treated with over-the-counter hemorrhoid remedies. If the causative factors are not counteracted, they will grow larger over time. From a medical point of view, there are 4 stages: 1st degree hemorrhoids, 2nd degree hemorrhoids, 3rd degree hemorrhoids and 4th degree hemorrhoids. Those affected should therefore counteract the enlargement of the hemorrhoids at an early stage by adjusting their diet and lifestyle habits. The symptoms should be treated with a suitable ointment for hemorrhoids such as FAKTU® lind with witch hazel extract.
The herbal duo: FAKTU® lind ointment for the day, suppositories for the night
The use of FAKTU® lind hemorrhoid ointment is particularly practical during the day.The ointment can be used after showering or going to the toilet if necessary. If you have symptoms such as a feeling of pain and very severe itching during the day, a local anesthetic hemorrhoid ointment with lidocaine can also be useful. FAKTU® lind hemorrhoid suppositories are ideal for the night-time treatment of hemorrhoid problems. While you sleep, the suppository stays in place and continuously releases the active ingredient for hours. With the combination of hemorrhoid ointment and hemorrhoidal suppositories, enlarged hemorrhoids are treated around the clock and symptoms usually disappear quickly.
Anal hygiene for hemorrhoid problems
Thorough, gentle anal hygiene is the be-all and end-all, especially for sensitive skin. FAKTU® Clean care wipes were developed for gentle and caring cleaning of the anal region. The wet cleaning wipes are fragrance- and alcohol-free and contain Ruscus root extract. For optimal results, you should pat the anal area dry before using the FAKTU® lind hemorrhoid ointment. To support and prevent inflammation, cotton panties should be worn and anal pads should be used if there is excessive oozing or sweating.
Using an anal dilator
The use of an anal dilator is useful to treat chronic spasm of the sphincter that can result from an anal fissure or diarrhea.A cramped sphincter reduces blood flow to the anal canal, which interferes with wound healing.Using the anal dilator stretches and relaxes the sphincter. With the help of the anal stretcher, the sphincter can also be trained, which is useful if the hemorrhoids protrude more easily from the anus due to the weakening of the pelvic floor and connective tissue.
How long should you use FAKTU® lind hemorrhoid ointment?
In principle, FAKTU® lind hemorrhoid ointment can be used until the symptoms subside. However, if there is no improvement in symptoms or even worsening within a week, a doctor should be consulted.Self-treatment without consulting a doctor should not exceed 4 weeks.
How should FAKTU® lind hemorrhoid ointment be stored?
Keep medicines out of the reach of children. The expiry date is printed on the folding box and tube. The preparation should no longer be used after the expiry date. The shelf life after opening is 6 months.Do not store above 30 °C!
