Kamillosan® mouth and throat spray is a herbal medicine that is used for pharyngitis, non-febrile colds and inflammation of the mucous membranes of the oral cavity and gums.The spray contains valuable extracts from the particularly active Manzana chamomile, peppermint oil, aniseed oil and chamomile oil.This combination has an anti-inflammatory, soothing effect and improves wound healing.

Areas of application

Kamillosan® mouth and throat spray is used for various inflammations in the mouth and throat.These include throat infections, which often occur in connection with colds and are caused by viruses.Typical symptoms include a sore throat, difficulty swallowing and reddened mucous membranes.Inflammation of the gums caused by bacteria can also be treated with the spray.These are manifested by swelling, bleeding and bad breath.

Various causes such as infectious diseases, vitamin deficiency, diabetes, circulatory disorders, hormonal fluctuations, smoking, increased alcohol consumption, poor oral hygiene, incorrect tooth position and poorly fitting dentures can play a role in inflammation of the mucous membranes in the mouth.Symptoms include pain when eating, bad breath, red and swollen mucous membranes and sometimes visible plaque.

Mode of action

Kamillosan® mouth and throat spray contains chamomile flower extract, essential oils from anise and peppermint and chamomile flower oil as active ingredients.The chamomile extract is obtained from the Manzana chamomile, which is particularly rich in active ingredients and was bred and patented specifically for Kamillosan.This chamomile clearly surpasses other varieties in terms of its active ingredient content.Anise and peppermint loosen stubborn mucus and relieve cold symptoms.The spray also contains 25% alcohol by volume.

0.7 mg chamomile flower oil

18.5 mg peppermint oil

Contraindications

The medicine must not be used if you are hypersensitive to chamomile and other composite plants, aniseed or other umbelliferous plants, anethole, peppermint oil or any of the other ingredients of the preparation.Do not use on children under 6 years.

Dosage

The following applies to adults and adolescents aged 12 and over: Spray inflamed areas in the mouth and throat with 2 sprays 3 times a day.It is recommended to carry out the spray treatment after meals.When handling the spray head, please note:

1. Do not bend the spray tube of the spray head forward.

2. Swing the spray tube sideways to the left or right into a horizontal position.

3. Remove air from the pump system by pumping several times before the first use.

Patient information

Particular caution is required when using the drug.Do not spray into your nose!If the symptoms are very severe, if there is no improvement within 7 days and if shortness of breath or fever occurs, a doctor should be consulted immediately.Children under 6 years of age must not use the medicine.Only give the product to children under 12 years of age after consulting a doctor, as there is currently no sufficient experience for this age group.

No special precautions are required if used as recommended.

Pregnancy

The widespread use of chamomile as a food and medicine has so far provided no evidence of risks during pregnancy and breastfeeding.There are also no known restrictions on the use of anise oil during pregnancy and breastfeeding in the recommended dosage range.However, there is no information on the use of peppermint oil during pregnancy and breastfeeding.The medicine should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding without consulting your doctor.

This product contains 25% alcohol by volume.

Other

In rare cases, if a bottle that is already in use is not used for a long period of time, the spray tube may become blocked.In this case, the spray pipe should be briefly held under warm water. Any natural cloudiness that may occur has no influence on the effectiveness of the preparation.
