Valerian tincture is a herbal medicine that is used for calming and nervous-related problems falling asleep.No prescription is required for this product.

Composition

100 g of valerian tincture contains 100 g of valerian root tincture in a ratio of 1:5.Ethanol 70% (V/V) is used as an extractant.Valerian root contains mainly iridoids such as valepotriates and essential oil including bornyl acetate.

Valerian tincture is used for restlessness and nervous-related problems falling asleep.If the symptoms persist for a long time, a doctor should be consulted.

Contraindications

Valerian tincture should not be used by alcoholics.Due to the alcohol content, the medicine should only be used by people with liver disease, epileptics, brain disease or brain damage after consulting a doctor.In addition, there are no sufficient studies on its use during pregnancy, breastfeeding and in children under 12 years of age, so this group should not use the medicine.

Dosage instructions and method of application

To calm you down, take 4 teaspoonfuls (approx. 2.5 ml) 2-3 times a day.If you have trouble sleeping, take 1 teaspoon full (approx. 5 ml), diluted with a little water, half an hour before going to bed.If necessary, an additional 1 teaspoonful can be taken before dinner.The dosage should not be exceeded without consulting a doctor or pharmacist.

Warnings

This medicine contains 66% alcohol by volume.If the dosage instructions are followed, up to 2.62 g of alcohol will be consumed with each intake (1 teaspoon).There is a particular health risk for people with liver disease, alcoholics, epileptics, brain disease or brain damage, as well as for pregnant women and children.The effect of other medicines may be impaired or increased.The ability to react may be impaired, especially in combination with alcohol.

Side effects and overdose

So far there are no known side effects.An overdose can cause alcohol poisoning, especially in young children.In this case, you should consult a doctor immediately.

Storage

Valerian tincture should be kept tightly closed, protected from light and out of the reach of children.After the expiry date, the medicine may no longer be used.
