Cetirizine-ADGC® film-coated tablets
Cetirizine-ADGC® film-coated tablets with 10 mg cetirizine dihydrochloride are an over-the-counter antihistamine used to relieve allergy symptoms.It is suitable for adults and children aged 6 and over and can be used both for acute complaints and as a preventative measure.The long-lasting effect allows it to be taken once a day.
Areas of application
Cetirizine-ADGC® is used to relieve nasal and eye symptoms of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis (hay fever) and to relieve chronic hives (chronic idiopathic urticaria).It is suitable for adults and children aged 6 and over.
Mode of action
Cetirizine is a second-generation antihistamine.The active ingredient cetirizine dihydrochloride blocks the H1 histamine receptors, thereby alleviating the symptoms of an allergic reaction.Cetirizine-ADGC® has a quick and long-lasting effect, with relief from allergic symptoms starting within half an hour of taking it.
Active ingredients and ingredients
The active ingredient in Cetirizine-ADGC® is cetirizine dihydrochloride, with a dosage of 10 mg per film-coated tablet.The other ingredients include lactose monohydrate, corn starch, povidone 30, magnesium stearate, hypromellose, macrogol 6000, talc, titanium dioxide (E171) and simeticone emulsion SE 4.
Contraindications
Cetirizine-ADGC® must not be taken if you have severe kidney disease requiring dialysis or if you are allergic to cetirizine dihydrochloride, any of the other ingredients of the medicine, hydroxyzine or other piperazine derivatives.
Dosage
The tablets should be swallowed whole with a glass of liquid and can be divided into two equal doses.Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age take one tablet (10 mg) once daily.Children between 6 and 12 years of age take half a tablet (5 mg) twice daily.Patients with kidney failure should coordinate the dosage with their doctor or pharmacist.
Intake
Cetirizine-ADGC® is available in the form of film-coated tablets for oral administration.It is recommended not to exceed the specified dose and to wait for the individual reaction to the medication, especially if you drive a car, work without a secure footing or operate machines.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
The safe use of Cetirizine-ADGC® during pregnancy is not guaranteed, therefore its use is not recommended.Cetirizine-ADGC® should not be taken during breastfeeding as the active ingredient passes into breast milk.
Notes
Cetirizine-ADGC® contains lactose.Patients with an intolerance to certain sugars should only take the medicine after consulting a doctor.No prescription is required for this product.
