Cetirizine-ADGC is an anti-allergy medicine with the active ingredient cetirizine dihydrochloride. It is used to relieve nasal and eye symptoms in seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis (hay fever) and to relieve chronic hives (chronic idiopathic urticaria) in adults and children aged 6 years and over. The tablets are taken unchewed with a glass of liquid. The recommended dosage is 10 mg once daily in adults and adolescents over 12 years of age and 5 mg twice daily in children between 6 and 12 years of age. In patients with moderate to severe renal impairment, a daily dose of 5 mg is recommended. The duration of use depends on the individual symptoms and is determined by the doctor. Cetirizine-ADGC contains the active substance cetirizine dihydrochloride in a dosage of 10 mg per film-coated tablet. The other ingredients include lactose monohydrate, maize starch and titanium dioxide. Cetirizine-ADGC acts as an antihistamine and suppresses the effect of histamine, which is involved in allergic reactions. Various side effects may occur, such as gastrointestinal discomfort, headache and fatigue. The medicine should not be used in cases of known hypersensitivity to the ingredients, in children under 6 years of age and in cases of impaired kidney function. During pregnancy and breastfeeding, a doctor should be consulted before use. The storage of cetirizine-ADGC does not require any special conditions.
