Lorano® acute is suitable for the treatment of allergic inflammation inside the nose, such as hay fever, as well as chronic hives of unknown cause.The tablets can be taken at any time of the day, regardless of meals.However, eating food can delay the onset of action somewhat.

Mode of action

The active ingredient loratadine in Lorano® acute specifically blocks the docking points of the body's own messenger histamine, which plays an important role in allergic reactions.This significantly reduces allergy symptoms.Lorano® acute has a triple effect: It stops allergic rhinitis, quickly relieves itching, burning eyes and skin redness and has a long-lasting effect.

1 Tablet of Lorano® acute contains 10 mg of loratadine as the active ingredient.The other ingredients are magnesium distearate, corn starch, lactose monohydrate and highly dispersed silicon dioxide.

Contraindications

Lorano® acute must not be taken if you are allergic to loratadine or any of the other ingredients.It must also not be administered to children under 2 years of age.Particular caution should be exercised in patients with severe liver impairment.Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding is not recommended.If you plan to have a skin test carried out, please do not take Lorano® acute beforehand.

Dosage

Adults and adolescents aged 12 and over as well as children aged 2-12 with a body weight of over 30 kg take 1 tablet once a day.Children aged 2-12 years with a body weight of less than 30 kg take ½ tablet once a day.In patients with severe liver impairment, the starting dose for adults and children weighing more than 30 kg is 1 tablet every other day, and for children weighing 30 kg or less, ½ tablet every other day.The tablets can be taken without regard to meals.

Intake

The tablet can be taken without regard to meals.Take the tablet with a glass of water.

Patient information

Tell your doctor if you have severe liver impairment or are planning to have a skin test.Dosage should be discontinued at least 48 hours before performing skin tests.Children under 2 years of age should not take the medicine as its effectiveness and safety have not been established.Since taking the medicine can cause acute dizziness, you should only drive a vehicle or use machines if you are not impaired.

Pregnancy

Taking the drug during pregnancy and breastfeeding is not recommended.Before taking any medicines, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice.

Notes

If you take Lorano® acutely with food, absorption may be delayed.However, the general effectiveness remains unaffected.No prescription is required for this product.
