What is Lorano® acute?

Lorano® acute is an antihistamine that is used to treat hay fever, chronic hives and house dust allergies.The active ingredient loratadine works against histamine, a messenger substance that triggers allergic reactions.Lorano® acute is available without a prescription and can be purchased in different pack sizes.

Mode of action

Loratadine, the active ingredient in Lorano® acute, blocks the receptors to which histamine would dock.This prevents or weakens allergic reactions.Lorano® acute has a triple effect: it stops allergic rhinitis, quickly relieves itching and burning eyes as well as skin redness and has a long-lasting effect.

Areas of application

Lorano® acute is used for hay fever with symptoms such as sneezing, stuffy nose, itchy nose and itchy and burning eyes.It also helps with hives and allergic symptoms such as itching, redness and hives of the skin.The tablets can be taken at any time of the day, regardless of meals.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The active ingredient in Lorano® acute is loratadine with a dosage of 10 mg per tablet.The other ingredients are magnesium distearate, corn starch, lactose-1-water and highly dispersed silicon dioxide.

Dosage and intake

Adults and adolescents aged 12 and over as well as children aged 2-12 with a body weight of over 30 kg take one tablet once a day.Children aged 2-12 years with a body weight of less than 30 kg take half a tablet once a day.In case of severe liver dysfunction, the dosage should be adjusted.The tablets can be taken without regard to meals.

Contraindications and precautions

Lorano® acute should not be used in cases of known hypersensitivity to one of the ingredients, in children under 2 years of age and in severe liver dysfunction.Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding is not recommended.Before a skin test, the intake should be interrupted.

Preventive measures against allergies

To stop allergy symptoms early, you can find out about the current pollen count and take walks after rainstorms.At home, you can use a vacuum cleaner with microfilters, take off your clothes before going to bed, and wash your hair.It is best to ventilate in the afternoon or after a rain shower.
