Instructions for use for nasal spray AL 0.05% for children

Nasal spray AL 0.05% contains the active ingredient xylometazoline hydrochloride and is suitable for reducing the swelling of the nasal mucosa in various forms of colds.It can be used for colds, paroxysmal runny nose and allergic rhinitis.

The product contains benzalkonium chloride as an excipient.It should not be used for more than seven days unless otherwise directed by a doctor.No prescription is required for this product.

Areas of application

Nasal spray AL 0.05% is used to treat runny nose, paroxysmal runny nose and allergic rhinitis.It helps to reduce the swelling of the nasal mucosa, facilitate the drainage of secretions and improve breathing.

Mode of action

The active ingredient xylometazoline constricts the blood vessels in the nose, causing the mucous membrane to swell.This makes breathing easier and can reduce the risk of infections in the sinuses and middle ear.

Composition

1 ml nasal spray AL 0.05% contains 0.5 mg xylometazoline hydrochloride.Other ingredients include benzalkonium chloride, citric acid monohydrate, sodium citrate-2-water, purified water and glycerol.

Application and dosage

The spray is suitable for children aged 2 to 6 years.It is used as needed, but a maximum of three times a day with one spray into each nostril.Before the first use, the pump mechanism should be triggered until a fine spray mist emerges.During the spraying process you should breathe in lightly through your nose.

Special Notes

Nasal spray AL 0.05% should not be used for longer than five to seven days unless otherwise prescribed by a doctor.If symptoms persist or new complaints arise, a doctor should be consulted.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be used in cases of hypersensitivity to the ingredients, dry inflammation of the nasal mucosa with crust formation and in children under 2 years of age.If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have certain cardiovascular diseases, have increased intraocular pressure or have metabolic disorders, you should consult a doctor before use.

Side effects

Possible side effects include nasal irritation such as burning, sneezing and a stuffy nose feeling.Skin reactions such as rash, itching and swelling may also occur.

Storage

The medicine may be used for a maximum of six months after opening and should be stored at room temperature.
