EFFIPRO® - Spot on for small dogs

EFFIPRO® is a spot on preparation that is used to treat flea and tick infestations in dogs.The active ingredient in this product is fipronil, a substance that has been widely used worldwide for over a decade to combat parasites in dogs.Fipronil is known for its high effectiveness and good tolerance for both animals and humans.To date, no resistance to these parasites has been reported in veterinary practice.

Tolerability of EFFIPRO®

The active ingredient fipronil is distributed in the superficial layers of the skin and is not absorbed by the intact skin.Even when used regularly, Fipronil does not put any strain on the entire organism.It works specifically on specific receptors in the nervous system of fleas and ticks.Mammals and humans have comparable receptors which, when used as intended, do not allow the active ingredient to bind.This explains the high level of safety and tolerability of EFFIPRO® for dogs and people.

Frequency of application

Treatment with EFFIPRO® is usually recommended every four weeks to effectively prevent flea and tick infestations.

The EFFIPRO® spot-on application

EFFIPRO® is intended exclusively for external use.The solution is applied to the skin according to the dog's body weight.The exact dosage depends on the weight of the dog.

Step 1: Remove the pipette from the packaging and separate one pipette.Hold the pipette vertically and tap the tip so that the contents are in the main body of the pipette.

Step 2: Bend the cap along the marked line.

Step 3: Part the fur so that the skin is visible.Place the pipette tip on the skin and squeeze the pipette to empty the contents directly onto the skin.For dogs, it is recommended to apply the solution to different places along the back line.Avoid letting the dog lick the solution.

After treatment, animals should not lick each other.The fur should not be excessively wet as this can cause the hair to stick together at the application site.Whitish solution residue may be visible for up to 48 hours after treatment.To optimally eliminate fleas and ticks, a treatment plan can be drawn up in consultation with your veterinarian.

Notes

Due to lack of data, it is recommended not to use EFFIPRO® in puppies under two months of age or weighing less than 2 kg.The product should not be used on sick or recovering animals.It is not suitable for rabbits as this can cause serious side effects or even death. EFFIPRO® is specially developed for dogs and must not be used on cats as this can lead to overdose.If you are hypersensitive to the active ingredient or any of the other ingredients, the product should not be used.

Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the package.The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.

Ingredients

One pipette (0.67 ml solution) contains 67 mg of fipronil as active ingredient.Other ingredients are butylhydroxyanisole and butylhydroxytoluene.
