Information for use with the article Abnobaviscum Fraxini 20 mg ampoules: The medicine Abnobaviscum Fraxini is a solution for injection and contains the active substance extract of fresh ash mistletoe herb. It is used to treat malignant tumour diseases, also in combination with disorders of the haematopoietic organs. It can also be used for relapse prophylaxis after tumour operations, in defined precancerous conditions and benign tumour diseases. The dosage, type and duration of use varies depending on the patient. In the initiation phase, treatment is started three times a week with 1 ml of the injection solution of the indicated strength. The dose is then gradually increased until the optimal dose is reached. The duration of treatment may be several years, with breaks of increasing length. Minor side effects may occur, such as a slight increase in body temperature and local inflammatory reactions at the injection site. In case of fever above 38 °C or major local reactions, the next injection should only be administered after the symptoms have subsided and at a reduced concentration or dose. Allergic reactions may also occur and require discontinuation of the drug and medical therapy. The drug Abnobaviscum Fraxini is usually well tolerated. However, it should not be used in cases of intolerance, acute inflammatory or high febrile conditions or certain other diseases. There are insufficient data on its use during pregnancy and lactation.
