Reproduction information on the article KA VIT drops: The medicinal product KA VIT drops contains the active substance phytomenadione (vitamin K1) and is used for the treatment and prevention of vitamin K deficiency states. The approved area of application is neonatal vitamin K prophylaxis immediately after birth and vitamin K therapy in patients with vitamin K deficiency haemorrhages. Vitamin K deficiency states can be caused by a true vitamin K deficiency or by the intake of certain blood-thinning medicines. Before taking KA VIT drops, it should be noted that the preparation must not be taken if you are allergic to phytomenadione or any of the other ingredients of the medicinal product. In case of regular intake of anticoagulant medicines, KA VIT drops should only be taken in exact compliance with the dosage of the attending physician in order to avoid the risk of vascular occlusion. The drops are taken orally and should be taken together with liquid. The dosage depends on the area of application and is taken according to the doctor's prescription. Side effects occur in very rare cases. Allergic reactions to the active substance phytomenadione have been observed.
