Camphoderm® N is an emulsion for external use on the skin.The active ingredient is racemic camphor, which is used to promote skin circulation.No prescription is required for this product.

Active ingredient and areas of application

The active ingredient in Camphoderm® N is racemic camphor.This emulsion is applied topically to promote skin circulation.If symptoms persist or worsen, a doctor should be consulted.

Important information on application

Camphoderm® N must not be used if you are known to be hypersensitive to the active ingredient or certain ingredients such as cetostearyl alcohol and sorbic acid.It is also not suitable for use in cases of bronchial asthma, open injuries, inflammation, diabetic vascular diseases, restricted circulatory function, children under 17 years of age and infants under 2 years of age.Particular caution is required to avoid contact with skin wounds, eyes or mucous membranes.

Application and dosage

Camphoderm® N is used as a rub 3 to 5 times a day.The amount varies depending on the size of the area to be treated.The maximum daily dose is 40 g.The emulsion should be applied thinly and rubbed in lightly.Use for longer than 4 days without medical advice is not recommended.Large-area application and the use of occlusive dressings are not recommended.

Side effects

Possible side effects include local skin reactions such as redness, itching, burning and rash.Hypersensitivity reactions may occasionally occur.Rarely, coughing or narrowing of the airways can occur.If used over a large area and for a long period of time, further side effects cannot be ruled out.

Storage

Camphoderm® N should be stored at a temperature not exceeding 25°C and should not be frozen.The opened tube must be used within 6 months.The medicine must be kept out of the reach of children.

Ingredients

In addition to the active ingredient racemic camphor, Camphoderm® N contains emulsifying cetostearyl alcohol type A, dibutyl adipate, cetomacrogol 1000, sorbic acid and purified water.The emulsion is available in tubes of 50g and 100g.
