Kiltix is a tick and flea protection tape specifically designed for small dogs.It offers reliable protection against ticks and fleas for up to 6 months.The collar is approx. 35 cm long and contains two well-tolerated active ingredients that are applied to the band in powder form.These active ingredients are distributed over the entire surface of the dog's body via the fatty film of the skin, which prevents overdose.

Areas of application

The Kiltix collar for small dogs is used to combat wood ticks (Ixodes ricinus), brown dog ticks (Rhipicephalus sanguineus) and fleas (Ctenocephalides canis/felis) on dogs.It also protects against new infestations by these parasites.As soon as temperatures become milder in spring, ticks and fleas are particularly active and can transmit dangerous pathogens to dogs.Year-round protection against these parasites prevents itching, skin irritation and the transmission of diseases.

Mode of action

The active ingredients propoxur and flumethrin in the Kiltix collar for small dogs reliably protect the dog from tick and flea infestation.These active ingredients are present in powder form on the collar and are distributed over the entire surface of the dog's body via the fatty film of the skin.This prevents an overdose.

A collar weighing 12.5 g (approx. 35 cm long) contains the following active ingredients: 1.25 g propoxur (2-isopropoxyphenyl)(methylcarbamate) and 0.28 g flumethrin ((±)-α-cyano-4-fluoro-3-phenoxybenzyl-3-(β,4-dichlorostyryl)-2,2-dimethylcyclopropanecarboxylates).Other ingredients include dibutyl adipate, propylene glycol octanoate decanoate, epoxidized soybean oil, stearic acid, titanium dioxide (E171), iron oxide (E172) and polyvinyl chloride.

Contraindications

The Kiltix collar for small dogs should not be used if you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the ingredients.It must not be used on sick or convalescent animals, on puppies under 3 months of age, on food-producing animals, or on animals with extensive skin lesions.

Dosage

Remove the Kiltix small dog collar from the sealed protective packaging, unroll it and remove the plastic bars on the inside of the collar.Place the band loosely around your dog's neck and cut off the excess end if it is longer than 2 cm.The distance should be approximately two fingers wide between the neck and the band and should be checked regularly.In the first few days, the skin under the collar should also be checked.

Patient information

The veterinary medicinal product may irritate the eyes and may cause an allergic reaction if it comes into contact with the skin.After putting on the collar, wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water.Avoid contact of eyes and skin with the collar.Do not eat, drink or smoke during use.Dogs wearing the Kiltix collar are not allowed to swim in open water.

Keep the Kiltix collar for small dogs out of the reach of children and away from food, drink and feed.No prescription is required for this product.

Application

The collar is attached to the skin and placed around the dog's neck.Small dogs receive a collar approx. 35 cm long (12.5 g).The band should fit loosely, with about two fingers between the neck and the band.In the first few days after application, the skin in the neck area should be checked.The effectiveness and duration of action depends on the length, density and condition of the coat, the activity of the animal and the parasite pressure.If the effectiveness decreases, an early change of the collar may be indicated.
