Instructions for use of the article Instillagel: Instillagel is a sterile gel used for mucosal disinfection and local anaesthesia. It can be used for various medical procedures such as catheterisation, probing, endoscopy and intubation. The use of Instillagel can prevent iatrogenic injuries to the rectum and colon. The gel contains the active ingredients lidocaine hydrochloride, chlorhexidine digluconate, methyl 4-hydroxybenzoate and propyl 4-hydroxybenzoate. Certain precautions should be observed before using Instillagel. The gel should not be used if there is an allergy to the active ingredients or other ingredients. Instillagel should also not be used in patients with disorders of the irritant conduction system or in children under 2 years of age. This gel is very suitable for inserting a catheter, and after about 10 minutes the insertion is noticeably better due to the light anaesthetic .
