Directions for use of the article Agnus Castus Pentarkan Tablets. Agnus Castus Pentarkan is a homeopathic medicinal product for use in disorders of the female reproductive organs, especially in menstrual disorders (cycle disorders). It contains the active ingredients Agnus castus, Apis mellifica, Pulsatilla pratensis and Rosmarinus officinalis. Before use, some important instructions should be observed. The medicinal product must not be used in cases of hypersensitivity to bee venom, wheat starch or any of the other ingredients, in patients with oestrogen-dependent tumours and tumours of the pituitary gland, during breast-feeding and in children and adolescents under 18 years of age. In case of menstrual disorders, a doctor should be consulted before use. The dosage and application are individualised according to the doctor's prescription. For acute complaints, 1 tablet can be taken every half hour to hour, but not more than 6 times a day. In chronic cases, 1 tablet 1 to 3 times a day is usually sufficient. The tablet should be taken half an hour before or after eating and should be allowed to dissolve slowly in the mouth. Side effects may occur, such as headaches, dizziness, gastrointestinal complaints, acne and menstrual disorders. Hypersensitivity reactions may also occur. If side effects are noticed, a doctor or pharmacist should be contacted. A temporary worsening of symptoms may also occur, in which case the medicinal product should be discontinued and a doctor consulted. The medicinal product should be kept out of reach of children and should not be used after the expiry date. It contains lactose and wheat starch, therefore it should only be taken after consulting a doctor in case of intolerance to certain sugars or in case of coeliac disease.
