Advantage Spot-On is a spot-on skin solution specifically designed for dogs, cats and ornamental rabbits.The active ingredient imidacloprid effectively fights fleas and lice.No prescription is required for this product.

Areas of application

Advantage Spot-On is used to prevent and treat flea infestations in dogs and cats, as well as to treat lice infestations in dogs.In ornamental rabbits it is used to treat flea infestations.The product can also be used to control flea allergy dermatitis (FAD) if previously diagnosed by a veterinarian.

On dogs, fleas are killed within 24 hours of application and the effect lasts up to 4 weeks.In cats and ornamental rabbits, the fleas are killed within a day of treatment, with the effect lasting 3 to 4 weeks in cats and up to a week in ornamental rabbits.

Mode of action

Advantage Spot-On quickly kills the fleas on the animal and prevents them from sucking blood and laying eggs.It also works against flea larvae in the immediate vicinity of the treated animal when they come into contact with the active ingredient.The treatment prevents new flea infestations.

One pipette with 2.5 ml of solution contains 250 mg of imidacloprid.Other ingredients include butylhydroxytoluene (E 321) with 4.0 mg, benzyl alcohol (E 1519) and propylene carbonate.

Contraindications

Advantage Spot-On should not be used on suckling puppies under 8 weeks of age, on rabbits intended for human consumption, or on ornamental rabbits under 10 weeks of age.The product must not be used even if you are known to be hypersensitive to the active ingredient or one of the other ingredients.

Dosage

Advantage Spot-On is used externally.Before use, determine the animal's weight.Dogs weighing 10 to 25 kg are given a pipette with 2.5 ml of solution.The solution is applied to the skin between the shoulder blades or along the back line.Be careful not to let the solution run down the animal's side.

Patient information

Prevent newly treated animals from licking each other at the application site.Do not pet or brush the animals until the treated area has dried.Wash your hands thoroughly after use.

Notes

Store Advantage Spot-On separately from food, drink and feed.The blister pack should be stored in the folding box.Keep the product out of the reach of children.Avoid allowing imidacloprid to enter waterways as it may be harmful to aquatic organisms.

Application

Remove a pipette from the package and remove the child-resistant cap.Press the cover in the opposite direction and pull it off again while turning.Part the dog's fur between the shoulder blades and apply the solution directly to the skin.Be careful not to let the solution run down.

For stubborn flea infestations, it may be necessary to supplement the treatment with an environmental spray.Clean carpets, upholstery and textiles thoroughly and wash them at at least 60 °C.
