The grapefruit: a real power fruit

Grapefruit is known for its high vitamin C content. However, the secondary plant substances, the so-called bioflavonoids, are less well known.These cannot be assigned to the classic nutrient groups such as carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins or minerals.Chemically speaking, flavonoids are glycosides and are mainly found in above-ground parts of plants.The seeds and peels of fruits and vegetables, which we usually remove, are particularly rich in bioflavonoids.

Everything under control: from the orchard to the final product

To produce CitroBiotic®, we only source organic grapefruits from certified cultivation companies.The fruits mainly come from southern Europe.After delivery to Germany, the grapefruits are thoroughly cleaned and prepared for further processing.Using various thermo-physical processes, the valuable secondary plant substances are gently extracted in a multi-stage extraction process.This process takes place under clean room conditions and in compliance with the strictest hygienic requirements and constant quality controls.

What is meant by “controlled organic cultivation”?

A new regulation on organic farming has been in effect since 2009.An essential part of this regulation is the control system.All companies involved are checked at least once a year, and unannounced checks also take place.Sanitas GmbH & Co. KG is certified by the “Society for Resource Protection” in Göttingen.The Sanitas control number is: DE-ÖKO-039.

Application
