Directions for use of Orlistat HEXAL 60 mg hard capsules Orlistat HEXAL 60 mg is used for weight reduction in overweight adults aged 18 years and over with a BMI of 28 or higher. It should be used in conjunction with a low-fat, low-calorie diet. Orlistat prevents a quarter of the fat ingested from being absorbed by the body. It is recommended to take 1 capsule 3 times daily with main meals. Side effects may include bloating, soft stools or diarrhoea. In case of severe allergic reactions, such as shortness of breath or skin rashes, the intake should be stopped and a doctor should be consulted. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should not take orlistat. A doctor should be consulted before taking it. It should not be used for longer than 6 months and if weight loss has not been achieved after 12 weeks, advice should be sought from a doctor.
