Instructions for use of Iscador Qu 5 mg special injection solution

Iscador® Qu is an anthroposophic medicine that is used for the extended treatment of tumor diseases.The active ingredient is a fermented aqueous extract from the fresh mistletoe plant (Viscum album L.) from various host trees, sometimes with metal additives.No prescription is required for this product.

Areas of application

In accordance with the anthroposophical knowledge of humanity and nature, Iscador® Qu is used to stimulate the form and integration forces in adults to dissolve and reintegrate independent growth processes.This includes:

For malignant tumor diseases, also with accompanying disorders of the blood-forming organs.For benign tumor diseases.To prevent tumor recurrences after operations.For defined precursors of cancer (precancerous lesions).

Important notes

Iscador® Qu must not be used in cases of known intolerance to mistletoe preparations, in acute inflammatory or highly febrile illnesses, in chronic granulomatous diseases and autoimmune diseases with severe symptoms, in hyperthyroidism with palpitations, as well as in primary brain and spinal cord tumors or in brain metastases with the risk of increased intracranial pressure.

Caution is advised when used during pregnancy and breastfeeding.Interactions with other medicines have not been studied, but are not known either.Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are using other medicines.

Application

Iscador® Qu is injected subcutaneously, if possible near the tumor or metastasis or in different parts of the body.The injection should be strictly subcutaneous and it is recommended not to draw up Iscador® Qu in a syringe with other medicines.The dosage is individual and should be as directed by the doctor.

The therapy begins with a gradual dosage with Iscador® Qu Series 0. If well tolerated, the dosage can be increased up to the individual reaction dose.The optimal dose is determined based on various responses, such as changes in subjective well-being, temperature response, immunological response and local inflammatory response.

The maintenance phase continues with the determined optimal dose.To avoid habituation effects, rhythmic use with alternation of strengths and dosages as well as taking breaks is recommended.

Side effects

Like all medicines, Iscador® Qu can have side effects, although not everyone gets them.Possible side effects include a slight increase in body temperature, localized inflammatory reactions around the injection site, temporary mild swelling of regional lymph nodes, allergic or allergy-like reactions, activation of pre-existing inflammation and inflammatory irritation of superficial veins in the injection area.

If the fever lasts longer than 3 days or if the fever exceeds 38°C, the next injection should only be given after these symptoms have subsided and at a reduced strength.Excessive local reactions can be avoided by using a lower strength of the preparation or a smaller amount of Iscador® Qu.

Storage

Iscador® Qu should be stored in a refrigerator at 2°C to 8°C.Keep the medicine out of the reach of children.Do not use the medicine after the expiry date stated on the ampoules and carton.

Iscador® Qu 20 mg: 100 mg, Iscador® Qu 10 mg: 50 mg, Iscador® Qu 1 mg: 5 mg, Iscador® Qu 0.1 mg: 0.5 mg, Iscador® Qu 0.01 mg: 0.05 mg, Iscador® Qu 0.001 mg: 0.005 mg, Iscador® Qu0.0001mg: 0.0005mg.

The other ingredients are sodium chloride and water for injections.

Iscador® Qu is a clear and, depending on the strength, colorless to yellow colored injection solution.The series packs each contain 7 ampoules of 1 ml injection solution of different strengths.
