Important information about omega-3 fatty acids

Humans cannot produce the omega-3 fatty acids eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) themselves, so they must be supplied with food.Significant amounts of EPA and DHA are only found in certain cold-water fish, such as herring, mackerel or salmon.

Fish is often not consumed twice a week, as recommended by the German Nutrition Society.In many cases, the intake of EPA and DHA is below the level considered desirable by experts.

Omega-3 fish oil capsules contain 500 mg of high-quality fish oil per capsule, which consists of at least 30% polyunsaturated omega-3 fatty acids (18% EPA, 12% DHA), combined with 5 mg of natural vitamin E. They are well tolerated and suitable for anyone who wants to efficiently improve their supply of omega-3 fatty acids.

The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) states:
