The dental gel contains 2.74 mg Dectaflur, 22.1 mg sodium fluoride, 12.5 mg fluoride ion and 30.36 mg Olaflur.The excipients included are cochineal red A, hyetellose, spearmint oil, levomenthol, peppermint oil, saccharin, purified water and methyl 4-hydroxybenzoate.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be used if you are hypersensitive to Olaflur, Dectaflur, sodium fluoride or any of the other ingredients.It should also not be used in cases of pathological peeling of the epithelium of the oral mucosa, in people with an uncontrolled swallowing reflex, in children under 6 years of age at home or in children under 3 years of age in the dental practice/group prophylaxis.In addition, it must not be used for bone and/or dental fluorosis.

Dosage

Always use the medicine exactly as directed.Please ask your dentist or pharmacist if you are not sure.Unless otherwise prescribed by the dentist, the usual dose for use to prevent caries and for the targeted treatment of hypersensitive tooth necks is usually:

At home: Brush your teeth with a toothbrush once a week with approx. 0.5 g of dental gel (approx. 1.5 cm of dental gel strand or cherry stone size), corresponding to 6.25 mg of fluoride.After a few minutes of exposure, rinse your mouth.The total time of application (cleaning and exposure time) must not exceed 5 minutes.If there is an increased risk of caries, the dentist can order application 2-3 times a week.For the targeted treatment of hypersensitive tooth necks, the dental gel is applied to the affected tooth surfaces and brushed in.It is best to use the dental gel in the evening before going to bed.

In the dental practice: To prevent caries, use approx. 3 g of dental gel (corresponding to approx. 37.5 mg of fluoride) using a mini plastic splint approx. 2 times per year.Application with the blunt cannula from a filled disposable syringe to tooth surfaces at risk of caries or hypersensitive: carry out 2-4 times per year.If there is an increased risk of caries, e.g.B. for patients with orthodontic appliances: Use at monthly intervals.A sufficient contact time of the dental gel with the teeth (at least 2 to 4 minutes) must be ensured.However, it must not exceed 5 minutes.After application, rinse your mouth.

In group prophylaxis: As part of group prophylactic activities, brush your teeth with the dental gel approximately twice a year, especially for children and adolescents with an increased risk of tooth decay, several times a year.Rinse after 2-3 minutes.The total time of application (cleaning and exposure time) must not exceed 5 minutes.

Long-term success is only guaranteed with lifelong use.

If you use more than you should, in extreme cases you may experience nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.If you experience these symptoms of poisoning, drink drinks containing calcium (e.g. milk, calcium effervescent tablets) to bind the fluoride.Then see a doctor.If a total daily fluoride intake of 2 mg is regularly exceeded during tooth development until about age 8, mottled enamel and enamel or dental fluorosis may occur.

Do not use a double dose if you forget the previous dose.

Patient information

Particular caution is required when using the product if the product contains menthol, peppermint oil and spearmint oil.Patients with bronchial asthma or other respiratory diseases should consult their dentist/doctor before using the drug. If systemic fluoride is administered, this should be stopped for a few days after application of the dental gel.

The prerequisite for correct use and to avoid excessive amounts of fluoride due to swallowing is control over the swallowing reflex.The use of mini plastic splints in the dental practice is only indicated for children from the age of 8.

No special precautions are required.

Pregnancy

There is currently no or only limited experience with the use of the active ingredients contained in the dental gel in pregnant women.If necessary, the medicine can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding.Fluoride passes into breast milk.The medicine should therefore be used with caution during breastfeeding.If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your dentist, doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.

Notes

Contains methyl 4-hydroxybenzoate (Ph. Eur.), saccharin and Ponceau 4R (dye E 124).Please do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the pack or outer packaging.The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.
