Singers swear by them, but Emser Salt Pastilles also help "normal people" very well against a dry throat/scratchy throat and the irritating cough associated with it. TIP: Do not suck the tablets (as the tongue then tends to become sore), but place them in the "cheek pocket" and allow them to melt slowly. You will then immediately notice the increased flow of saliva and the associated relief of symptoms. If you don't like the salt flavour - there are many other flavours available.

I have known Emser Pastilles since I was a child and I am glad that they are a menthol-free alternative to many other throat lozenges, as I can't stand the taste of mint and it makes me nauseous. They are also better tolerated than many sugar-free sweets and I personally find them much more effective for hoarseness and dry mucous membranes. For inflammation, however, I prefer to use anaesthetic tablets.

The pastilles help really well with sore throats. In the acute phase, I take 3 a day and that's enough to prevent swallowing problems and free my voice. They are also really cheap in the mail-order pharmacy.

I like the Emser pastilles best without menthol - but that's a matter of taste. Above all, I can confirm that they help super quickly and reliably with sore throats and are easy on the voice. I actually always have them in stock at home! I think they're really good.
