Information for use with the article Bionorica Bronchipret Drops: Bronchipret drops are a herbal medicinal product for improving the symptoms of acute inflammatory bronchial diseases and acute inflammation of the respiratory tract accompanied by "cough with viscous phlegm". It must not be taken in cases of hypersensitivity to ivy, thyme or other labiates, birch, mugwort, celery or any of the other ingredients of the product. Particular caution is advised if the symptoms persist for more than a week, shortness of breath, fever or purulent or bloody sputum occur. The medicine should not be used in children under 6 years of age. There are no known interactions with other medicines. The medicine should not be taken during pregnancy and breast-feeding. Gastrointestinal complaints such as nausea, vomiting and abdominal cramps may occur. The medicine contains 24% (v/v) alcohol and should be avoided by alcoholics. The recommended dosage is 2.6 ml for adolescents aged 12 and over and adults, or 1.3 ml for children aged 6 to 11 years, 3 times a day in each case. The duration of use depends on the course of the disease and should not exceed one week. If an overdose is suspected, a doctor should be consulted.
