Ginkgo has been used as a medicinal plant in Chinese medicine for thousands of years.The dry extract of Ginkgo biloba leaves contained in Ginkgo STADA® promotes blood circulation in the brain and can thereby improve memory performance and increase concentration.

Active ingredients / ingredients / ingredients

Ginkgo STADA® contains ginkgo biloba dry extract as the active ingredient.One film-coated tablet contains 240 mg of quantified, refined dry extract of Ginkgo biloba leaves (35-67: 1), extracted with acetone 60% (m/m).The extract is quantified to contain 22.0-27.0% flavonoids, calculated as flavonol glycosides, 2.8-3.4% ginkgolides A, B and C, 2.6-3.2% bilobalide and contains a maximum of 5 ppm ginkgolic acids.

The other ingredients are: Tablet core: croscarmellose sodium, colloidal silicon dioxide, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate (Ph. Eur.) [pflanzlich], microcrystalline cellulose, spray-dried glucose syrup.Filming: Opadry II White 85 F18422, consisting of: macrogol 3350, poly(vinyl alcohol), talc, titanium dioxide (E 171), iron (III) hydroxide oxide x H2O (E 172).

Contraindications

Ginkgo STADA® must not be taken if you are allergic to Ginkgo biloba extract or any of the other ingredients of this medicine or if you are pregnant.

Dosage

Always take Ginkgo STADA® exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.The recommended dose for adults and elderly patients is 1/2 film-coated tablet twice daily or 1 film-coated tablet once daily.Twice daily use should be in the morning and evening, with once daily use in the morning or evening.Treatment should last at least 8 weeks.If there is no improvement in the symptoms after 3 months or if the symptoms of the disease worsen, the doctor should check whether continuing treatment is still justified.

Intake

The film-coated tablets are taken orally and swallowed whole with liquid, preferably a glass of drinking water.It can be taken regardless of meals.

Patient information

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Ginkgo STADA® if you have a pathologically increased bleeding tendency, if you are being treated with blood-thinning medications, if you are known to have a seizure disorder (epilepsy), if an operation is planned in the next 3 to 4 days or if you are taking efavirenz.Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if symptoms worsen with treatment.

Pregnancy

Ginkgo STADA® must not be taken during pregnancy.There is evidence that preparations containing ginkgo could increase the risk of bleeding.This medicine should not be used during breastfeeding as there are no sufficient studies.
