Instructions for use of the article Avene SunsiMed: Avene SunsiMed is a medical product that provides a very high level of sun protection. It has been specially developed for vulnerable skin exposed to the sun. It works against the harmful effects of the sun and protects against actinic keratoses, skin cancer (except melanoma) and photo-ageing. The product is suitable for adults with sensitive skin and skin prone to actinic keratosis. It can be used as often as necessary. Apply daily in the morning to areas of the face and body that are exposed to the sun during the day. Two pumps are recommended for the face, and one pump each for the neck, décolleté, underarms and head. In case of prolonged exposure to the sun, heavy sweating or contact with water, the application should be repeated. Avoid applying the product to mucous membranes or injured skin. The ingredients of the product include Avene Thermal Spring Water, various alkyl benzoates, UV-filters and other excipients. The product's action is based on the exclusive Sunsitive protection complex, which provides effective UVA and UVB-protection. The antioxidant tocopheryl glucoside neutralises free radicals in the skin. The product has a light, non-greasy texture and is easy to apply. An in vivo study was conducted on the efficacy of the product. This UV- UVB-examined DNA-damage from UV-exposure and found a 99.2% reduction. Avene SunsiMed is part of the Avène range of sunscreen products that provide highly tolerable sun protection. The products contain the Sunsitive Protection Filter System, which provides safe UV-broad-spectrum protection, and Avène Thermal Spring Water, which has a skin-soothing effect. The product is manufactured by PIERRE FABRE DERMO KOSMETIK GmbH. It should be noted that in case of known hypersensitivity to the ingredients, the product should not be used. The recommended dosage per day is a maximum of 21 pump shots, whereby an application quantity of 2 mg per cm² of skin surface offers the best protection against UV-radiation.
