What is Lipogran®?

Lipogran® is a registered medical product whose effectiveness and safety have been tested in accordance with the European Medical Devices Directive (93/42/EEC).It contains prickly pear powder, a natural fiber complex from the Opuntia ficus indica plant.This fiber complex is rich in soluble and insoluble fibers and has a high binding affinity for fats.No prescription is required for this product.

Main effect of Lipogran®

Lipogran® is used as a vegetable fat binder.It helps to reduce calorie intake from dietary fats and supports the control of body weight and the treatment of obesity as part of an overall dietary plan.The reduced fat intake can also lengthen the feeling of satiety.The insoluble fibers in Lipogran® bind fat from food in the stomach and form a voluminous fat-fiber complex.This is not influenced by the different pH values in the stomach and intestines, is not absorbed in the intestines and is naturally excreted in the stool.The swelling effect of the fibers can also create a slight feeling of satiety.

Application

To reduce body weight, 3 Lipogran® tablets should be consumed before or during main meals.To control body weight, 2 tablets before or during main meals are sufficient.The tablets should not be bitten and should not disintegrate in the mouth.No more than 9 tablets may be consumed per day.An overdose does not improve the effect, but can increase possible side effects.Lipogran® can only work properly when taken as directed.After 30 days of taking it, it is recommended to take a break of 3 to 5 days without taking it.Lipogran® should always be considered as part of an overall dietary plan.

General precautions

Lipogran® should not be used if you are underweight (BMI > 18.5), during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.It should also not be taken if you have inflammatory gastrointestinal diseases or kidney diseases or kidney stones, as it may contain traces of oxalic acid.Lipogran® should not be taken together with fat-soluble medications such as contraceptives, birth control pills or antiepileptics and vitamins, but should be taken at least 2 to 4 hours apart.Diabetics and people with other relevant medical conditions should consult their doctor before taking it.Taking Lipogran® can result in reduced energy intake.If in doubt, you should ask your doctor or pharmacist before taking this product.

Possible side effects

Possible side effects of Lipogran® can include an increased amount of stool, fat in the stool, flatulence in the first few days of taking it and a feeling of fullness.

Composition of Lipogran® tablets

Active ingredient: Prickly pear powder, a natural fiber complex derived from plants.Excipients: microcrystalline cellulose, sorbitol (*), cellulose powder, magnesium stearate, sodium starch glycolate, silicon dioxide, coating (HPMC, HPC, talc, starch, Miglyol).Lipogran® contains no artificial preservatives or colors and is free of gluten and flavors.It is made on a natural basis and is free of animal raw materials.Slight variations in color and taste have no influence on effectiveness.Sorbitol can have a laxative effect if consumed in excess.

Storage

Lipogran® should not be stored above 30°C, dry and out of the reach of children.It must be used by the date stated on the packaging.
