DEUMAVAN® Protective ointment is a medical product that was specially developed for the external intimate and anal area.It was developed by gynecologist Professor Dr.Eiko E. Petersen designs and offers medical skin protection for sensitive skin.The protective ointment relieves symptoms such as burning, itching and soreness in dry and damaged intimate skin.It protects the skin from lesions and irritations caused by mechanical stress and supports the natural skin barrier against external influences.The ointment is suitable for short-term and long-term daily use and, after consultation with a doctor, can also be used as an adjunct to drug therapy.

Areas of application

DEUMAVAN® Protective ointment can be used for various complaints of the sensitive skin in the external intimate and anal areas.It relieves burning, itching and soreness in dry and damaged intimate skin, protects the skin from lesions and irritations caused by mechanical stress and supports the skin barrier in protecting it from external influences.The ointment is suitable for relieving symptoms of dry, cracked intimate skin, especially during and after menopause or diabetes mellitus.It can also be used in the anal area for diarrhea, rhagades and hemorrhoids as well as for chronic inflammatory skin diseases such as psoriasis or neurodermatitis.It can be used as an adjunct to therapy for lichen sclerosus and vulvodynia.

The protective ointment supports the natural skin barrier in protecting against mechanical stress caused by sexual intercourse, wearing incontinence materials or during sports, from urine and stool, especially in the case of urinary or fecal incontinence, as well as from pathogens that can cause infections of the urinary tract and/or intimate area.

Causes of dry and stressed intimate skin

Dry and stressed intimate skin can have various causes, including changes in the hormonal balance that occur during menopause, during and after pregnancy.Incorrect or excessive intimate and anal care, mechanical stress caused by sports, radiation treatment or diabetes mellitus can also irritate the skin.Diseases such as lichen sclerosus, vulvodynia, psoriasis or neurodermatitis can also lead to dry and stressed intimate skin.

DEUMAVAN® Protective ointment contains only fats and oils of high-purity pharmaceutical quality.The ingredients are Paraffinum Liquidum, Petrolatum, Paraffin and Tocopheryl Acetate.The ointment is free of emulsifiers, preservatives, alcohol, dyes and hormones.In addition, the formula does not contain any fragrances at all, which means it is hypoallergenic and can also be used on highly sensitive and allergy-prone skin in the anogenital area.

Contraindications

If you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the ingredients mentioned, the product should not be used.

Dosage

DEUMAVAN® Protective Ointment can be applied as local protection to the entire external anogenital area, including the external female and male genitals, the perineum and the anal area.The frequency and duration of application depend on needs.Application several times a day, also for prevention, is recommended.The ointment can be used as preventative and lasting protection before and after mechanical stress, after washing, before and after bowel movements and urination, before and after sporting activity, before and after sexual contact and as accompanying support for skin changes.

DEUMAVAN® Protective ointment is a medical product for daily local, external protection of the entire intimate area.It relieves symptoms such as itching, burning, redness, swelling, dryness and soreness and prevents lesions and irritation during sexual contact and other mechanical stress.It is recommended not to use latex condoms, but instead polyurethane or AT-10.
