Using the OneTouch® control solution

The OneTouch® control solution is used to check the correct functioning of your blood glucose monitoring system and test strips.It will help you confirm that the blood sugar test was carried out properly.

It is recommended to use the control solution in the following situations:

When you open a new vial of test strips to make sure the test strips are working properly.

If you suspect that the meter or test strips are not working properly, to identify possible sources of error.

If you repeatedly receive unexpected blood glucose test results, to check the accuracy of the measuring system.

If the meter has been dropped or damaged to ensure it continues to function reliably.

When performing a control solution test with the OneTouch Ultra Plus Flex® Blood Glucose Monitoring System, you should only use OneTouch Ultra® Plus control solutions (mid or high range).

No prescription is required for this product.

Recommended frequency of use

The control solution should be used at least once a week.Additionally, you should use the control solution whenever you suspect that your test device or test strips are not working properly and each time you open a new vial of test strips.The control solution also helps you become familiar with your LifeScan system.

Ingredients of the control solution

The control solution consists of a viscosity-regulating component, a preservative, a dye, a buffer and glucose (0.12%) dissolved in water.
