Gingium® 80 mg film-coated tablets contain a dry extract of Ginkgo biloba leaves as the active ingredient.This extract is rich in flavone glycosides and terpene lactones, which are responsible for the circulation-promoting effect.The tablets are suitable for the symptomatic treatment of organic brain-related loss of mental performance as part of an overall therapeutic concept for dementia syndromes with main complaints such as memory disorders, concentration disorders, depression, dizziness, ringing in the ears and headaches.They can also be used to extend pain-free walking distance in cases of arterial occlusive disease in the limbs, to treat dizziness and to support the treatment of ringing in the ears as a result of circulatory disorders or age-related regression processes.No prescription is required for this product.

80 mg dry extract from Ginkgo biloba leaves (35-67:1), extractant: acetone 60% (m/m).The extract is quantified to contain 17.6-21.6 mg of flavonoids, calculated as flavonoid glycosides and 4.0-5.6 mg of terpene lactones, of which 2.24-2.72 mg of ginkgolides A, B and C and 2.08-2.56 mg of bilobalide, and contains less than 0.4 μg of ginkgolic acids.

Croscarmellose-Na, highly dispersed silicon dioxide, hypromellose, lactose monohydrate, macrogol 1500, Mg stearate (Ph.Eur.), corn starch, microcrystalline cellulose, simeticon-alpha-hydro-omega-octadecyloxypoly (oxyethylene)-5-(2E,4E)-hexa-2,4-dienoic acid water,Talc, titanium dioxide E171, iron (III) oxide, iron oxides and hydroxides E172.
Contraindications
Gingium® 80 mg film-coated tablets should not be used in cases of known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients, during pregnancy, while breastfeeding and in children and adolescents under 18 years of age.If you have a pathological bleeding tendency and are simultaneously being treated with anticoagulant medications, you should consult a doctor before use.The use of the medicine must be stopped before a planned operation.
Dosage
Recommended use of Gingium® 80 mg film-coated tablets:
Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose is:
For the symptomatic treatment of organic brain-related performance disorders: Adults aged 18 and over should take 1 tablet 2-3 times a day.
To extend pain-free walking distance in cases of peripheral arterial disease: Adults aged 18 and over should take 1 tablet twice a day.
For dizziness and to support the treatment of ringing in the ears: Adults aged 18 and over should take 1 tablet twice a day.
It is taken 3 times a day in the morning, midday and evening, and 2 times a day in the morning and evening.
The duration of treatment should be at least 8 weeks.If you have ringing in the ears, supportive treatment should last for at least 12 weeks.
Intake
Do not take tablets while lying down.Please take the tablets whole with enough liquid.It can be taken regardless of meals.
Patient information
Particular caution is required when taking Gingium® 80 mg film-coated tablets if you have a pathological bleeding tendency or if you are being treated with anticoagulant medications at the same time.Please inform your doctor in good time if you have taken the medicine so that he can decide how to proceed.If you are known to have a seizure disorder (epilepsy), please consult your doctor before taking this medication.
Pregnancy
Before taking Gingium® 80 mg film-coated tablets, ask your doctor or pharmacy for advice.Experimental studies showed no evidence of a teratogenic effect of the ginkgo extract contained in this medicine.However, since there is no experience in humans and its use during pregnancy is not justified, the benefits of treatment during pregnancy must be carefully weighed against the possible risks.It is not known whether the ingredients of ginkgo extract pass into breast milk.
