Whether nausea on the go, due to migraines or a gastrointestinal infection or hormonal-related - nausea can have many causes.Vomex A® 50 mg solution works against nausea and vomiting with the active ingredient dimenhydrinate.The effect sets in within 30 minutes and lasts up to six hours.

Dimenhydrinate works directly in a part of the brain called the vomiting center.The dimenhydrinate contained in Vomex A® blocks the histamine receptors in the vomiting center so that signals that trigger nausea and vomiting are not transmitted: the histamine cannot work and the nausea subsides.

Active ingredient of Vomex A® 50 mg oral solution in a sachet: 10 ml contents (1 sachet) dimenhydrinate 50 mg.

Other ingredients: Propylene glycol 800 mg, methyl 4-hydroxybenzoate 5 mg, sucrose 4800 mg, saccharin sodium 2-water, sodium cyclamate, sodium chloride (equivalent to sodium ion 12.36 mg), tutti frutti aroma, amaranth 0.5 mg, purified water.

Area of application

Vomex A® 50 mg oral solution in a sachet is used to prevent and treat motion sickness in adults and children weighing more than 30 kg.

Dosage

Adults and adolescents over 14 years: 50 mg to 100 mg (1-2 sachets) 3 or 4 times daily.The total daily dose should not exceed 400 mg dimenhydrinate.

Children and adolescents between 6 and 14 years of age with a body weight of 30 kg or more: 50 mg (1 sachet) 3 times daily.The total daily dose should not exceed 150 mg dimenhydrinate.

In case of motion sickness, the first dose should be taken at least half an hour before the start of the journey (preferably 1 to 2 hours before).Another dose should be taken at least 6 hours after the previous dose.

Intake

This medicine is taken without water.Taking after meals helps minimize stomach irritation.

Contraindications

If you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the above ingredients, this product should not be used.

Patient information

No prescription is required for this product.The preparation should be taken after meals to minimize stomach irritation.You should not consume alcohol or medicines containing alcohol during treatment.

Dimenhydrinate can cause drowsiness.Drinking alcohol or taking medicines that contain alcohol can increase this effect.Caution is advised when driving or operating machines.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.

The drug should not be taken during the third trimester as it may cause premature uterine contractions.During the first six months of pregnancy, it should only be used if the benefits significantly outweigh the risks.Your doctor will decide whether you should take this medication.

The active ingredient dimenhydrinate passes into breast milk.To date, no long-term negative effects have been noted in breastfed babies.However, you should switch to bottle feeding or stop treatment and ask your doctor for advice.
