Leukomed® skin sensitive is a skin-friendly wound dressing that was specially developed for patients with sensitive or already damaged skin.The sterile fleece bandage consists of a transversely elastic polyester fleece with a soft surface and a wound dressing made of viscose fleece coated with polypropylene.This quality makes the dressing very absorbent and suitable for slightly to moderately exuding wounds.Thanks to the silicone application, the wound pad does not stick to the wound, which prevents further skin damage.The air and water vapor permeable materials allow the skin to breathe and support the healing process.Patients particularly appreciate the painless removal of the wound dressing, as the silicone does not “stick” to the skin and can be removed without leaving any residue.

Area of application

Leukomed® skin sensitive is particularly suitable for older patients with fragile skin, skin damaged by illnesses, medications or long-term treatments, babies and small children with sensitive skin, for covering closed surgical wounds and for weak to moderately secreting wounds of all kinds. The dressing protects the wound from pathogens and contamination and is ideal for gentle application and removal in everyday medical practice.

Application

To use Leukomed® skin sensitive, you should first remove the first carrier film from the wound dressing.Then apply the silicone application to the skin so that the wound dressing is placed on the wound.Carefully peel off the second backing film and lightly smooth the wound dressing.

How long can Leukomed® skin sensitive be worn?The duration of wear depends on the individual case and should be discussed with the treating doctor or nursing staff.In general, the bandage can be worn safely for one or more days due to the reliable adhesion of the silicone application.The rounded corners prevent the fleece bandage from coming off prematurely.

Does Leukomed® skin sensitive have to be removed before an X-ray examination?No, because the bandage is indifferent to radiation and does not absorb any X-rays.It therefore does not need to be removed for X-ray examinations or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).

Does Leukomed® skin sensitive contain latex?No, natural rubber latex is deliberately avoided in production.Thanks to the latex-free formula, the product can also be used by people who are allergic to latex.

Is Leukomed® skin sensitive available in different sizes?Yes, for the sterile care of various wound sizes, the dressing is available in four dimensions: 5 x 7.2 cm, 8 x 10 cm, 8 x 15 cm and 10 x 25 cm.All dimensions are available in boxes of 5 or 20.For hygienic reasons, each wound dressing is individually packaged.
