The recommended dose for children aged 6-14 years is half to one tablet (equivalent to 250-500 mg acetylsalicylic acid) up to three times daily, corresponding to a total daily dose of 750-1500 mg acetylsalicylic acid.Adolescents and adults can take one to two tablets (equivalent to 500-1000 mg of acetylsalicylic acid) up to three times a day, for a total daily dose of 1500-3000 mg of acetylsalicylic acid.The single dose can be taken at intervals of 4 to 8 hours if necessary.The maximum daily dose is usually 3000 mg in adults.

For older children and adults, the use of dosage forms with a higher active ingredient content is recommended.

Intake

The medicine is intended to be taken orally.Take the tablets whole with plenty of liquid, such as a glass of water, and not on an empty stomach.

Particular caution is required when taking the preparation when taken together with medicines containing acetylsalicylic acid or with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.The preparation should also be taken with caution if you are hypersensitive to other painkillers, anti-inflammatory drugs or certain medicines for rheumatism, as well as if you have allergies, asthma, hay fever, swollen nasal mucous membranes or chronic respiratory diseases.

The preparation should be taken with caution in the event of simultaneous treatment with anticoagulant drugs, if there is a history of stomach or intestinal ulcers or gastrointestinal bleeding, if there is impaired liver function, impaired kidney function or reduced cardiac and vascular blood flow, if hypertension is not controlled, diabetes mellitus or if diuretics are taken at the same time, as well as before and after operations.

In patients with severe glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency, acetylsalicylic acid can cause an accelerated breakdown of red blood cells or a certain form of anemia.This risk can be increased by factors such as high dosage, fever or acute infections.

If you take painkillers long-term, headaches can occur, which can lead to repeated use and thus cause the headache to continue.Habitual use of painkillers can lead to permanent kidney damage with the risk of kidney failure.This risk is particularly high when several different painkillers are taken in combination.

In low doses, acetylsalicylic acid reduces uric acid excretion, which can trigger a gout attack in patients at risk.The preparation belongs to a group of medicines that can affect women's fertility.This effect is reversible after discontinuation of the drug.

The medicine should only be used in children and adolescents with febrile illnesses on medical advice and only if other measures do not work. If these conditions cause prolonged vomiting, it may be a sign of Reye's syndrome, a very rare but life-threatening disease that requires immediate medical attention.

No special precautions are required regarding the ability to drive or use machines.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.

You should not take the medicine in the first and second trimesters of pregnancy.In the last three months of pregnancy, you should not take acetylsalicylic acid before and during birth due to an increased risk of complications for the mother and child.

The active ingredient acetylsalicylic acid and its breakdown products pass into breast milk in small quantities.Since adverse consequences for the infant have not yet been reported, interruption of breastfeeding is not necessary if the recommended dose is used occasionally.However, if you use it for a long time or take high doses, you should stop breastfeeding.
