Acetylsalicylic acid ADGC 500 mg tablets are an analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory medicine. They are used to treat mild to moderately severe pain and fever. It is important to note that this medicine should only be used on medical advice in children and adolescents with febrile illnesses, otherwise liver-brain disease (Reye's syndrome) may occur. The medicine should not be taken for more than 3 to 4 days without medical advice. The dosage depends on the age and varies between 1/2 and 2 tablets per intake. The dose should be reduced in case of liver or kidney dysfunction. The tablets should be taken unchewed and after a meal with sufficient liquid. It is important not to exceed the maximum daily dose of 3000 mg. If an overdose is suspected, a doctor should be contacted immediately. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before use. Side effects such as gastrointestinal discomfort, allergic reactions or bleeding may occur.
