Magnesiocard 7.5 mmol is a mineral preparation that is used to treat magnesium deficiency states that require therapy.These conditions do not require an injection or infusion.The preparation is used in particular in cases of proven magnesium deficiency if this is the cause of disorders of muscle activity, such as neuromuscular disorders or leg cramps.

Active ingredient and other ingredients

The active ingredient in Magnesiocard 7.5 mmol is magnesium aspartate hydrochloride.Each effervescent tablet contains 1844.4 mg magnesium aspartate hydrochloride 3 H2O, which corresponds to a magnesium content of 7.5 mmol (182.3 mg).In addition, the preparation contains the following excipients: citric acid, sodium hydrogen carbonate, sodium carbonate, potassium hydrogen carbonate, acesulfame potassium, aspartame (contains phenylalanine), macrogol 6000, highly disperse silicon dioxide, lemon and lime aroma.Magnesiocard 7.5 mmol does not contain gluten or lactose.

Dosage and method of administration

The dosage of Magnesiocard 7.5 mmol depends on the extent of the magnesium deficiency and is at the doctor's discretion.The recommended average daily dose is 0.185 mmol magnesium (4.5 mg) per kg of body weight.In the case of chronic and severe acute magnesium deficiency, the daily dose can be safely increased to 0.37 mmol magnesium (9 mg) per kg of body weight until the deficiency is eliminated, provided there are no contraindications.

The usual dosage is:

Adults and adolescents over 14 years: 1 effervescent tablet 1-2 times daily (corresponding to 182.3-364.6 mg magnesium).

Children aged 10-14 years: 1 effervescent tablet once daily (corresponding to 182.3 mg magnesium).

Children aged 4-9 years should receive lower dosage forms of Magnesiocard.

Please dissolve the effervescent tablet in a glass of water, tea or fruit juice and drink the entire contents of the glass.Magnesiocard 7.5 mmol should be taken before eating, as this improves absorption from the gastrointestinal tract into the bloodstream.

Duration of application

Magnesiocard 7.5 mmol should be taken daily for at least 4 weeks.Long-term therapy with Magnesiocard 7.5 mmol (over years) is also harmless if the kidney function is normal, as excess magnesium is excreted via the kidneys.

Contraindications

Side effects
