Valerian Forte sedative tablets are a herbal medicine that is used to calm mild nervous tension and sleep disorders.No prescription is required for this product.It contains glucose and sucrose (sugar), which may be important for people with intolerances or diabetes.

Areas of application

Valerian Forte sedative tablets are used for mild nervous tension and sleep disorders.If the symptoms last longer than two weeks or worsen, a doctor should be consulted.

Dosage and application

The recommended dose for adults, children over 12 years and seniors is one coated tablet up to three times a day for mild nervous tension.If you have sleep disorders, take one tablet half an hour to an hour before going to bed.If necessary, an additional tablet can be taken earlier in the evening.The tablets should be taken with liquid.

Due to the gradual onset of effects, continuous use over two to four weeks is recommended.If symptoms do not improve or worsen after two weeks of use, a doctor or pharmacist should be consulted.

Ingredients

The active ingredient in Valerian Forte calming tablets is valerian root dry extract.One coated tablet contains 450 mg dry extract of valerian root (3-6:1), using ethanol 70% (v/v) as the extractant.

The other ingredients are Arabic gum, calcium carbonate E 170, bleached wax, croscarmellose sodium, carnauba wax, cellulose, glucose syrup dry matter, sucrose (sugar), dewaxed and bleached shellac, highly dispersed silicon dioxide, stearic acid, talc, tragacanth and titanium dioxide E 171.

Contraindications

Valerian Forte sedative tablets should not be used if you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the ingredients.The medicine is not suitable for children under 12 years.Its use is not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Side effects

Side effects are rare and may include fatigue, gastrointestinal cramps, chest tightness, lightheadedness, hand tremors, and pupil dilation.If side effects occur, a doctor or pharmacist should be consulted.

Storage

Valerian Forte sedative tablets should be kept out of the reach of children and not stored above 30 °C.The medicine must not be used after the expiry date stated on the packaging.Medicines should not be disposed of in wastewater or household waste.Ask your pharmacist how to throw away your medicine.

Important notes

Reactivity may be impaired, especially in higher doses or in combination with alcohol.Caution is advised if you are allergic to binding agents or have intolerance to glucose and sucrose.If you have diabetes, sugar content should be taken into account.
