Small injuries such as lacerations and abrasions are common, especially in children.However, not all ointments are suitable for the delicate skin of babies and small children.The Abtei Wundheil Zinc Ointment impresses with its simple composition and is therefore also suitable for wound healing in children.The wound protection formula has a dual effect: antibacterial and promoting wound healing.The active ingredient zinc inhibits bacterial growth and prevents inflammation.

Area of application

The medicine is a skin protectant.Zinc oxide has a covering, protective and secretion-binding effect in acute and subacute dermatoses.It is traditionally used as a mild medicine to support wound healing in small injuries and minor inflammations.

Active ingredient: 100 grams of the ointment contain 10.0 grams of zinc oxide.Other ingredients include white petroleum jelly, thick paraffin, wool wax alcohols, cetostearyl alcohol and butylated hydroxytoluene.The ointment is free of perfume and preservatives.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be used if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to zinc or any of the other ingredients.When used on large areas of skin, no more than 20 percent of the body surface should be treated.

Dosage

Always use the medicine exactly as directed.Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.The medicine is applied to the affected skin areas once or several times a day and, if necessary, covered with gauze.The duration of treatment is unlimited and depends on the healing process.

Patient information

Particular caution is required when using it in the genital and anal areas.Due to the additives petroleum jelly and paraffin, the simultaneous use of latex condoms can lead to a reduction in tear resistance and thus to an impairment of the safety of condoms.No special precautions are required when driving or using machines.

Pregnancy

Zinc oxide can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding if used as intended and following the dosage instructions.However, large area application should be avoided, especially on the breast in breastfeeding women.

Contains wool wax alcohols, cetostearyl alcohol and butylated hydroxytoluene.Read the package leaflet.Please do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the pack or outer packaging.The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.
