Advantage 400 F. Dog single dose pipettes

Advantage is a spot-on skin solution suitable for dogs, cats and ornamental rabbits.The active ingredient in this product is imidacloprid.Each milliliter of the solution contains 100 milligrams of imidacloprid and 1 milligram of butylated hydroxytoluene.Other ingredients include benzyl alcohol and propylene carbonate.The filling quantities vary depending on the animal species and weight, with 0.4 ml, 0.8 ml, 1.0 ml, 2.5 ml or 4.0 ml available for dogs and 0.4 ml or 0.8 ml for cats and rabbits.

Areas of application

Advantage is used to prevent and treat flea infestations in dogs and cats.In dogs it also treats hairy lice infestation (Trichodectes canis).It can also be used to treat flea infestations in ornamental rabbits.Once diagnosed by a veterinarian, the product can also be used to treat allergic dermatitis caused by flea bites (flea allergy dermatitis, FAD) in dogs and cats.For dogs, Advantage kills the fleas on the dog within 24 hours and is effective against fleas for four weeks.In cats and ornamental rabbits, the fleas are killed within a day of treatment, with the effect lasting three to four weeks in cats and up to a week in ornamental rabbits.

Contraindications

Advantage should not be used on suckling puppies under 8 weeks old.The product must also not be used on rabbits intended for human consumption or on ornamental rabbits that are younger than 10 weeks old.In addition, it should not be used if you are known to be hypersensitive to the active ingredient or any of the other ingredients.

Side effects

The veterinary medicinal product tastes bitter, which may cause salivation after use.However, this is not a sign of poisoning and will subside after a few minutes.In very rare cases, cats and rabbits may experience skin reactions such as temporary hair loss, redness, itching and inflammatory reactions at the application site.In exceptional cases, signs of restlessness, excessive salivation and nervous symptoms such as incoordination, tremors and fatigue have also been observed in cats.

Interactions

No signs of clinical intolerance were observed following co-administration of Advantage at twice the therapeutic dosage with lufenuron, pyrantel and praziquantel (in cats).The compatibility of Advantage with a number of other routine therapies, including vaccinations, has also been demonstrated in field conditions.
