What is Floradix with iron oral solution and what is it used for?

Floradix with iron oral solution is an iron deficiency prophylactic.It is used when there is an increased iron requirement if there is a risk of developing iron deficiency.There is an increased need for iron, especially when there is increased iron loss, for example during menstruation.There is also an increased need for iron during pregnancy and breastfeeding as well as during the recovery period after illness.Floradix with iron can also be used for general strengthening and strengthening as well as to improve performance in athletes.No prescription is required for this product.

How is Floradix with iron oral solution used?

Please stick to the dosage instructions, otherwise Floradix with iron cannot work properly.Unless otherwise prescribed, adults and adolescents aged 10 and over take 45 ml per day.45 ml Floradix with iron contains 36.8 mg usable iron(II).The dosage can be chosen as follows: 2 x 22.5 ml (morning and evening) or 3 x 15 ml (morning, lunch and evening).Children aged 6-10 take 2 x 15 ml.It is not intended for use in children under 6 years of age.

Shake before use.It is best taken chilled half an hour before meals.Please use the enclosed measuring cup to take it.If you have any questions regarding the duration of use, please ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Note for diabetics:

15 ml corresponds to approx. 0.3 bread units (BE).22.5 ml corresponds to approx. 0.4 BE.

How to store Floradix with iron oral solution?

You must not use the medicine after the expiry date stated on the carton and container.Do not store above 25°C.The bottle must be closed immediately after use and stored upright in the refrigerator.Shelf life after opening the container: 4 weeks.Store drug out of reach of children.

What Floradix with iron oral solution contains

100 ml (corresponding to approx. 109 g) solution contains the active ingredient: 703.3 - 773.9 mg iron (II) gluconate (Ph. Eur.) corresponding to 81.75 mg iron (II) ions.

Other ingredients: Ascorbic acid, aqueous extract (1:28.2) from a mixture of hibiscus flowers, bitter fennel, carrot, couch grass, yarrow herb, angelica root, horsetail herb, ribwort plantain leaves, juniper berries, chicory root, bitter orange peel(3:2.3:2.3:2.3:2.3:1.15:1.15:1.15:1.15:1:0.64), extractants: water, yeast autolysate, red grape juice concentrate, cherry juice concentrate, pear juice concentrate, blackberry juice concentrate, black currant juice concentrate, honey, rosehip thick extract,Fructose syrup 70%, orange flavor, orange flavor, water.

Contraindications

The product must not be taken if you are known to be hypersensitive to one of the ingredients, have iron utilization disorders or have excessive accumulation of iron in the body.The medicine should generally not be used in children under 6 years of age.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

During pregnancy and breastfeeding, the product should only be taken after a doctor has diagnosed iron deficiency or on a doctor's orders.

Side effects

Possible side effects include gastrointestinal complaints such as abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, diarrhea and constipation.In addition, the stool may turn black, which is harmless.Teeth discoloration can be avoided through good oral hygiene.If you notice any discomfort or change during treatment, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
