Profelan ointment according to Müller-Wohlfahrt is a pain ointment based on arnica flower tincture.It is used for the external treatment of blunt injuries and the consequences of accidents such as bruises, bruises, sprains and contusions.The ointment relieves pain, has a decongestant and anti-inflammatory effect and promotes healing.No prescription is required for this product.

Areas of application

Dosage and instructions for use

Adolescents aged 12 and over and adults can use the ointment 1-3 times a day.Approximately 3 cm of ointment should be applied to the affected area of skin and massaged in gently.Alternatively, an ointment bandage can be applied.After use, hands should be washed thoroughly to avoid accidental contact with open skin.Without medical advice, the ointment should not be used for more than 3-4 days.If symptoms persist for a long time or recur regularly, you should consult a doctor.

Contraindications

Composition

Active ingredient: Arnica tincture (200 mg per 10 g ointment).Excipients: cetostearyl alcohol (emulsifying, type A), cetostearyl alcohol, octyldodecanol, glycerol monostearate 40-50%, Dimeticon 350, medium-chain triglycerides, zinc oxide, carbomer 980, trometamol, spearmint oil, frankincense oil, D-limonene, chlorophyllin-copper-sodium complex,purified water, phospholipids (soybean), ethanol 96% (V/V), PEG-75 shea butter glyceride, palmitoyl ascorbic acid, (R,R,R)-α-tocopherol, retinol palmitate, potassium phosphate.

Mode of action

The ingredients of Profelan ointment according to Müller-Wohlfahrt come from the arnica plant and act as a natural mixture.Arnica contains main active ingredients such as helenalin and flavonoids, which have anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antiviral, pain-relieving and wound-healing properties.The plant is widespread in Scandinavia to southern Europe, central Asia and southern Russia and is used in the form of extracts, tinctures and powders from the flowers.

Important notes

Caution is advised with allergies to composite plants such as arnica, marigold, yarrow, echinacea and chamomile, as well as with allergies to ascorbic acid, peanuts and soy.Emulsifiers such as cetyl/stearyl alcohol can cause skin irritation.

Storage

The ointment should be protected from heat and stored in the dark (e.g. in the outer box).After opening or preparation, it may be used for a maximum of 3 months and must be stored at room temperature and in the dark.
