Instructions for use for Aknichthol Soft

Aknichthol Soft is a medicine used to treat acne.The active ingredient sodium bituminosulfonate, light, belongs to the group of sulfonated shale oils.It is used to reduce the number of comedones in mild and moderate acne vulgaris.No prescription is required for this product.

Active ingredient and composition

The active ingredient in Aknichthol Soft is sodium bituminosulfonate, light. Other ingredients include salicylic acid, butylated hydroxytoluene, medium-chain triglycerides, macrogol-4-lauryl ether, macrogol-5-oleyl ether, macrogol-7-glycerol cocoate, corn starch, highly dispersed silicon dioxide, titanium dioxide (E171), iron oxides and iron (III) hydroxide oxide (E172) as wellpurified water.

Application and dosage

Aknichthol Soft is applied two to three times a day to clean and dry skin.Adolescents aged 12 and over and adults should put around 20 drops of the emulsion on a swab and apply it evenly to the affected skin areas.The swab is drawn over the skin under light pressure, avoiding the eyelids and lips.In the beard area, the product is applied in the direction of beard growth.The bottle should be shaken well before use.

Use in children under 12 years should be avoided.For children, the daily dose of 0.2 g salicylic acid (corresponding to 40 g emulsion) must not be exceeded.The duration of treatment should be a maximum of 12 weeks, unless otherwise prescribed by a doctor.

Contraindications

Aknichthol Soft must not be used if you are allergic to sodium bituminosulfonate, light, other sulfonated shale oils, salicylic acid, salicylates or any of the other ingredients of the medicine.The product should also not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Side effects

Very rarely, contact allergies or skin intolerance reactions such as itching, burning and redness can occur.If you notice any side effects, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Storage

Keep Aknichthol Soft out of the reach of children and do not store it above 25°C.The medicine must not be used after the expiry date stated on the label and carton.After opening, the medicine can be used for 6 months, but not beyond the expiry date.
